SCI rejects transfer plea of Department of Telecom on one time spectrum fee

The Supreme Court of India has rejected transfer plea of the Department of Telecom (DoT) with regards to the one time spectrum fee. DoT to release spectrum sharing guidelines after auctions, to help smaller operators ?

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) will release spectrum sharing and trading guidelines only after the spectrum auctions. This is likely to cause a delay in the introduction of the spectrum guidelines until then. The DoT's delay in releasing spectrum sharing guidelines could add to telecom operators' woes. Telecom Commission finalises Rs 3700-cr base price for 2100MHz in coming spectrum auction

Inter-ministerial panel Telecom Commission (TC) on Monday has finalised a base price of Rs 3,700 crore for each MHz of 2,100-MHz spectrum.The spectrum auctions would be auctioned in February 25. The next round of auctions for spectrum is compulsory for mobile operators - Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and Reliance Communication - as some of their licences are set to expire in 2015-16. Spectrum price issue: TRAI returns clarifications sought by Telecom Commission without any change

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Thursday returned the clarifications sought by the Telecom Commission and kept the base price of 3G spectrum unchanged at Rs 2,720 crore per megahertz stating all spectrum in 2100 MHz band. Supreme Court declines to stay auction of spectrum on petition of Vodafone, Airtel

Supreme Court has rejected a petition filed by Vodafone India and Bharti Airtel Ltd to stay an auction of spectrum. India targets more than Rs 80,000 cr revenues from 2G, 3G auctions

The 20-year licence for 900 MHz for Bharti Airtel and Vodafone India for Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata circles lapsed, a month ago.
