Telcos fined for exceeding radiation limits, Airtel fined the most

The government has imposed total penalty of 10.80 crore on telecom operators for exceeding prescribed electronic frequency (EMF) limits, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said in a written reply to Rajya Sabha today, as reported by The Financial Express. MTS reduces base tariff for local and national SMS in all 9 circles

Earlier this year in April TRAI had reduced the ceiling tariff for roaming Pan India. This had mandated all operators to reduce the call and SMS tariffs while the subscriber was in national roaming. Cabinet clears hiving off 65,000 mobile towers of BSNL into subsidiary company, spells good news for the PSU and private operators

The union cabinet today cleared the proposal of the telecom department to hive off 65,000 mobile towers owned by BSNL into an entirely public owned subsidiary company. Bharti Airtel releases consolidated results for first quarter of FY2015 ended June 30, Mobile Data revenues at Rs 3,459 crore

Bharti Airtel Limited today announced its audited consolidated IFRS results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2015.
