E& and Ericsson Sign MoU to Develop AI-Powered Autonomous Networks
E& international and Ericsson have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at GITEX Global 2024, aiming to transform mobile networks through AI-driven autonomous solutions. The collaboration will focus on leveraging AI to foster innovation, improve network autonomy, and contribute to environmental sustainability, both companies said.

Joint Research for AI-Powered Networks

Under the terms of the collaboration, both companies will engage in joint research and experimentation to better understand the capabilities and potential of enabling AI-driven autonomous networks, knowledge-sharing and developing a roadmap for network evolution.

Focus on Environmental Sustainability

This roadmap will guide the development of autonomous networks over the next several years, exploring how AI can optimise network performance, customer experience and also contribute to broader sustainability goals, the official release said.

Goals for the Partnership

Over the next three years, the partnership will explore the use of AI to optimise network performance, customer experience, and reduce carbon emissions. Ericsson will leverage its global expertise in AI, 5G, cloud and automation, while e& remains committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2030 in the UAE and 2040 across all markets.
