NTT Docomo Launches 6G Harmonised Intelligence Project
NTT Docomo has launched a new project called '6G Harmonised Intelligence,' which it describes as the first step in realising its vision of 6G as a "Network for AI." 6G is a next-generation communication technology currently being discussed by standardisation organisations and companies, with the aim of commercialisation in the 2030s, the Japanese operator said.

The Vision for 6G

In addition, Docomo says 6G is expected to realise new values such as "sustainability" that did not exist before 5G. 6G will not only evolve technology but also contribute to the realisation of a sustainable and efficient society.

Docomo says it considers these five values for 6G: Sustainability, Efficiency, Customer Experience, Network for AI, and Connectivity Everywhere.

6G Harmonised Intelligence

The 6G Harmonised Intelligence Project (6GHI PJ) aims to discover new worldviews, concepts, use cases, and services through close collaboration with experts in AI and robotics. It will also pursue innovative initiatives in the fields of devices, networks, and UI/UX.

Collaborative Efforts

The project will bring together three experts, including the head of the R&D Center for Digital Nature at the University of Tsukuba, among others, to draw a concrete and feasible vision. NTT Docomo expects that the fusion of their expertise and experience will create innovative solutions to maximise the potential of 6G.
