Tariff war in India is at peak stage right now. Top telecom operators are looking for an upper hand by launching attractive tariff plans, and also to compete with Reliance Jio, who is the mainstay behind all this disruption in the country. It is already a known fact that Jio's Rs 459 plan is the best tariff plan one can get in India at the moment. Incumbent operators tried to introduce similar plans, and they did so. However, their plans were limited to specific circles and not open market ones.

That said, here comes an attractive open market tariff plan from India's leading telecom operator Bharti Airtel. Airtel has silently made the Rs 509 tariff plan as an open market, meaning any Airtel prepaid customer across the country can recharge the plan. In addition, all the Airtel customers- 2G/3G/4G can recharge this new offering.

Airtel's Rs 509 tariff plan comes with a validity period of 84 days and offers voice calling, data, and SMS benefits. It gives 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls including roaming calls and 100 SMS per day including roaming SMS for 84 days. This is one of the best plans from the house of Airtel, and it is clearly aimed at Jio's Rs 459 tariff plan.

For the unaware, Reliance Jio recently introduced a Rs 459 tariff plan, under which it is also offering the same benefits of 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMS per day for 84 days.

Airtel prepaid customers can recharge the Rs 509 plan by heading over to MyAirtel app or Airtel website. Do search for the Rs 509 plan because it isn't yet showing in the 'best offers for you' section.

Airtel's tariff portfolio starts at Rs 199 and goes all the way up to R 3,999 for the yearly plan. Do make a note that Airtel also has a Rs 448 tariff plan that gives the same benefits for 70 days, and a Rs 399 plan is also present under Airtel's belt.
