The Redmi 2 is a successor to the Redmi 1S, but comes with only slight upgrade in terms of hardware. It features the same 4.7-inch 720p HD IPS LCD display, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, an 8-megapixel primary camera, and dual-SIM connectivity. However, the device is more compact (with slimmer bezels), features a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor, 4G LTE connectivity, and MIUI 6 software (based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat). The front-facing camera has been upgraded from a 1.6MP sensor to a 2MP sensor, while the battery sees an upgrade from 2,000 mAh to 2,200 mAh.
