Uninor the most talked about new entrant in the telecom industry had its chief appeal among the masses for the generous talktime it offered on topup vouchers.
While other operators offer a maximum of full talktime recharge topup denominations, often divided into core talktime and promotional or on net talktime with limited usage duration, Uninor offered a wide range of extra talktime topup options whereby the user got more talktime than what he payed for and that too complete core talktime with lifetime validity.
The chief attraction of this scheme was the Rs.500 recharge denomination which gave the user Rs.600 worth of talktime which implies a 20% bonus talktime. Recently the company revised this voucher in Mumbai and is now giving only 500 full talktime with no bonus.
The company has yet not informed the consumers about this change in scheme, infact the official website still displays Rs.600 talktime on Rs.500 topup.
To confirm the change the user can dial 50001 or contact customer care on 121 and inquire about the revised benefits of the voucher.

In jharkhand-bihar circle uninor also charge 50 paisa per 3 min to call their customer care.

these 3G players like Airtel now trying to fill the gap between 2G and 3G and that why why they are increasing the tariff of 2G. they are not able to decrease the tariff of 3G and still they want to move the customer towards their costly 3G and for that they are doing this. i am personally using Vodafone 2G and have found the big difference in their speed now. Vodafone has intentionally capped 2G internet speed so that customer will get frustrate by that speed and decide to move on their costly 3G.

im using uninor for 2p/min u2u local call rate pack…..its really amazing and not only that , uninor has a moderately good network in our Kolkata circle…better that tata docomo….

I have been using Uninor since 6 months now.. I have rarely faced any sort of network coverage issue in mumbai, good signal strength and voice quality.. Also I usually receive 90% discount to uninor local numbers and an average of 25% discount to other local numbers, and rather rarely even reaching 60% discount to other operator local numbers.. Uninor also offers one of the best data plans, where big operators like Airtel r offering 1gb for Rs.98 uninor offers 6gb for Rs.90. Yes the recent data capping move by uninor has been rather disturbing for people who use their cell as a mobem for their PC for downloading purpose, as 200mb data cap limits the usage per day.. The only way to bypass this that may come in handy for users who download large files over torrent clients is to start downloads somewhere around 10pm, within 2 hours at 12am the date will change and a fresh quota of 200mb will be available, which may enable the users to download a maximum of 400mb in one session.

Im using uninor for only 38 pack. Earlier used to use 90rs internet pack but from past 2months speed has become horrible mostly because of capping of speed. So switched to idea for net.
one cannot rely on this operator fully as this has the poorest coverage and least number of towers even in existin towns.just 1 tower for a C category town having more than 40000 population.

One upon a time was when uninor was launch in Kolkata it gives a superior quality service and best affordable plan and was fair in all respect. But now a day uninor has become a gaint in cheeting. I am the owner of a telecom shop name “SZS Variety” I activated a sim of customer in June with FRC Rs.68 and SRC Rs.100 in which customer gets Rs.145 and 1000min of U2U talktime. H uses the sim for some time and then he pick out the sim and keep him and not use it for a couple of fortNight. He last checkd his balance was Rs.119 Again when he inserted the sim once again He found his balance decreases to only Rs.56 .He come to me and say the full story i take the sim by him and say that I will ask the reason with customer executive . But i forgot for 5-6day after that I inserted the sim in mobile and and checked the balance it was Rs.41 then I call customer care and ask the reason behind balance dedution He give me excuse the due to system upgradation work he was not able to help me and says to call after 3 hours. Again when I call he give me same version then I requested him to transfer the call to supervisior When I talked with him he says me that a picture and a song was downloaded on 2nd August and he also give me the model no of mobile by which internet was access and downloaded. I says him that I am a retailer the your are saying on that date I had the sim and it was out from mobile. But he not commited his fault and not refunded my customer valued balance. This story proves how uninor bcomes dacoit of balance deduction.

I myself am a satisfied uninor customer, the purpose behind me writing this article was to make ppl aware of the change in the particular plan mentioned above since uninor hasn’t officially published it on its website. Why settle for just full talktime when you can have extra benefits with bonus talktime on lower denominations like Rs.115 talktime on recharge of Rs.100 or Rs.355 talktime on recharge of Rs.300.

After hiking the call charges it seems like all operators are back to old days of call rate cutter plans in Haryana. Idea today introduced a Rs.32 recharge which will allow customers to call @40p/min (Local/STD) for 30 days (approx. Rs.1 rental/day) but again Tata Docomo trying to be the cheapest by offering same @Rs.64 with 120 days validity i.e call per 40p/min for 120 days at Rs.64 (approx. 50p rental per day).

we are happy till they provide full talk time with lifetime validity whatever RCs are present now. Bonus is not required.
