Since the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge, the prices of previous-generation devices from the company is falling. The predecessor to the Galaxy S6, the Samsung Galaxy S5, is now available for just Rs. 22,999 through Flipkart, and if you have an old smartphone, you can get it for an ever lower price. At this price, the device offers the best camera and the best display when compared to its competitors in the price range.
The Galaxy S5 features a 5.1-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, Android 5.0 Lollipop, an octa-core Exynos 5430 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, and a 2,800 mAh battery. There's a 16-megapixel ISOCELL camera with 4K video recording, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Other features include a fingerprint sensor, a water- and dust-resistant body with IP67 certification, a heart-rate monitor, and S Health fitness tracker.
Samsung is strengthening its mid-range smartphone lineup to compete with the likes of Xiaomi, Lenovo, OnePlus, and other such Chinese brands. It recently launched the Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7 with decent hardware specifications and a front-facing LED flash accompanying a high-resolution front-facing camera.
