Idea Cellular Readies India to Play ‘Idea Oongli Cricket’

After Test Cricket, One-Day Cricket and T-20 Cricket, there is a new format of Cricket born in India – it is ‘Idea Oongli Cricket’! With the new campaign this summer, Idea Cellular will bring Cricket at fingertips for the experts of the game as well as novice, men & women, old and the young, and everybody else who uses a mobile phone.

The new teaser campaigns already running on Television have been urging people to keep their fingers in good shape as ‘Idea Oongli Cricket’ is coming. BSNL Launches 3G Mobile Services In Vijayawada and Guntur

State-owned telecom operator operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today launched its much awaited 3G GSM mobile services in business city Vijayawada, Guntur, Prakasam and Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh telecom circle. BSNL 3G services allow telecom operators to offer Video calls, high-speed Internet with speed Up to 3.1 Mbps, High Quality Multimedia services. It also supports global roaming and live mobile TV facility.

Mr. Sudhindra Kumar, CGM BSNL Aandhra Pradesh Circle said that the BSNL 3G Network is ready in 29 Cities/Towns across the state and we will roll out the commercial services in all districts by the end of this month. TTML Launches Tata Photon Plus Wireless Broadband Service in Pune

Tata Teleservices Maharashtra Limited (TTML), the fastest-growing dual-technology telecom service provider, has today announced the launch its Tata Photon Plus the Wireless Broadband service in Pune (Maharashtra).

Tata Photon Plus USB modem will cost Rs. 2299 and is compatible with both laptops and desktops.The service is available on postpaid and prepaid Internet access with all India Roaming through the Tata Indicom CDMA EVDO network.

Tata Photon plus subscribers can also watch live television on their laptops and personal computers using the Photon plus TV application. Vodafone India Introduces Star of the Match Competition

BSNL Launches Pan India EVDO Wireless Broadband at Lowest Tariff

India’s National Telecom backbone Bharat sanchar Nigam Ltd announced the launch of Pan India CDMA based EVDO wireless broadband service with attractive promotional data tariff. BSNL EVDO data card provide High speed wireless broadband service up to 3.1 Mbps.

With the Pan-India launch, BSNL introduced new attractive Unlimited  Downloads plan (Home and Roam) at just Rs.750 for its postpaid EVDO Data card subscribers across India. With the promotional plan subscriber can access High speed wireless Internet with unlimited Downloads-Uploads while on move across India. The operator also unveils Pay As per Use Plan for prepaid customers with default tariff of 5 paisa/100KB (50 paisa per MB) for data usage.

Uninor Provides Emergency Communication Support at Maha Kumbh Mela

Uninor, a joint venture between global telecom giant Telenor and Unitech Ltd., is providing much needed emergency communication support to the millions of Kumbh Mela visitors. Through a network of Assistance Booths set up for the visitors at Maha Kumbh Mela, one of the largest events in India, Uninor will be providing free emergency calling and maps of the area for the benefit of these million visitors.

At the Maha Kumbh Mela, Uninor tied up with the Kumbh Mela Committee to install the Uninor Emergency Assistance booths to provide free mobile phone services to the visitors of Maha Kumbh Mela for making emergency calls. Airtel Introduces New Own Net Calling Packs in Kerala

India’s largest GSM mobile service operator Bharti Airtel announced the launch of tow new Own-Net calling Pack to provide cheapest Airtel to Airtel Local callings to its prepaid subscribers in Kerala telecom circle.

Airtel’s New Own Net calling pack will cost at Rs.14 and Rs.80. With the Pack of Rs.14 Airtel subscriber can make all local calls to any Airtel mobile number at 30 paisa per minute for 30 days. The another Own Net Calling Pack of Rs.80 will provide cheapest own net callings wherein subscriber can make all local A2A calls just at 10 paisa per minute.The tariff validity will be 30 days from the date of recharge.

BSNL Launches 3G Mobile Services in Kanyakumari

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today launched its much awaited 3G mobile services at tourist hot spot Kanyakumari in the state of Tamilnadu. The next generation 3G services allow telecom operators to offer Video calls, high-speed Internet with speed Up to 3.1 Mbps and live Mobile TV facility.

Mr. D Varadarajan CGM BSNL Tamil Nadu Circle said that the company is geared up to rolls 3G Mobile and Data services in 38 more cities and towns across the Tamilnadu.

According to the BSNL announcement the core 3G UMTS next generation network  work  for 3G GSM mobile and 3.75G HSPA Broadband services are going on in 38 cities of 23 District headquarters apart, places include Kodaikanal, Hosur, Trichy, Thanjavur and Tiruvarur. After detailed examination and installation of other BTSs, commercial launch of 3G services will be commercial launched in all the districts/cities will be gradually launched by the end of this month. Telcordia Receives Green Signal from Home Ministry to Implement MNP

Telcordia the prospective Mobile Number Portability firm getting clearance from the Indian Home Ministry to start its MNP operations in the country. The MNP shall allow mobile subscribers to retain their existing mobile number when they switch from one access service provider to another irrespective of mobile technology or from one technology to another of the same or any other access service provider within same service area.

Switching existing mobile operators to the new operator without changing mobile numbers may become possible from May-2010 , with Telcordia, the US-based telecom solution vendor that was selected by the Department of Telecom (DoT) to be one of the firms to make Mobile Number Portability possible, had hit a security issue owing to its operations in Pakistan.
