Telcos Ask Trai to Take a Pragmatic and Considerate View in Fining them for QoS Violations

Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) in a letter to Trai last week has asked the sector regulator not to levy penalty on telcos over minor issues. “We request that these nominal or marginal deviations from the prescribed benchmarks should be waived off and no financial disincentives should be imposed on the operators,” said COAI which represents the private operators- Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular. Trai to Impose Penalty on Operators for Not Meeting QoS Norms in Q4 2017

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) is looking to impose the penalty on operators who did not meet the new Quality of Service (QoS) norms for the quarter that ended December 31, 2017.
