Out of all the top brands, Motorola is probably the only one which is yet to launch a smartphone with wireless charging. However, that's going to change very soon as a Motorola wireless charging pad has been certified by Wireless Power Consortium. As you can see in the image, the Motorola wireless charging pad looks like any other wireless charging pad available in the market right now, but it has the Motorola logo on top. It has been certified with model number- CHR-066 and supports Qi wireless charging.
Motorola Wireless Charging Pad: Details
Firstly, the wireless charging pad has been certified with the model number- CHR-066. Talking about the design, it looks like any other wireless charging pad available in the market right now with slim-disk shape and soft touch non-slip surface. The charging pad also has a discreet LED charging indicator which turns green while charging a phone wirelessly.
Besides these details, we don't have the charging speeds of this Motorola wireless charger on the website, but they're expected to get very soon.
Motorola Smartphone With Wireless Charging Coming Soon
If you look at current smartphones from Motorola, there isn't a single smartphone with wireless charging support. But this wireless charging pad certification is an indication that the Lenovo-owned company will soon come up with one. Popular smartphone brands such as Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, Sony all launched smartphones with wireless charging in the past, but Motorola is yet to launch one.
As of now, we don't have any information regarding which Motorola smartphone will come with wireless charging. Surely, the company will add the feature in its flagship smartphone, which of course, could be the Moto Z4 or Moto Z5 because Motorola is now owned by a Chinese company where numerical '4' is believed to be a false one.
In other news, Motorola is expected to launch four new models under the Moto G7 series next year- Moto G7, Moto G7 Plus, Moto G7 Play and Moto G7 Power. Already, the specifications of the Moto G7 are making rounds on the web revealing the phone will have a waterdrop notch, bigger 6.4-inch display, 3500mAh battery and an octa-core processor. The specifications of other Moto G7 devices are not known yet.
