The Jammu and Kashmir floods have created enough havoc to create issues for times to come. The authorities are doing their bit to speed up the relief process and the telecom operators are doing their bit as well. BSNL has just announced that it will be providing free telecom services to its customers in the Srinagar area of Jammu and Kashmir.
A nice touch that BSNL has announced is that this service is not restricted only to the customers of Srinagar area. All those customers who have a BSNL connection in the northern part of the country and have travelled to Jammu and Kashmir for relief and rescue operations can make free calls (STD as well as local) and send SMS while they are in the area.
The facility has already begun as you read this (it began on 11th September midnight) and will continue for the next 10 days. The service has been introduced considering the situation being witnessed. There's no way customers can do a recharge if they are stranded somewhere and shops aren't operational too. This move will help the customers who are stuck due to the adverse situation.
