Asianet increases unlimited broadband plans speed to 700kbps and 1Mbps

Even though government haven't taken any steps towards implementing NTP 2012 recommendation of minimum broadband speed of 2 Mbps by 2015. Asianet has taken a self initiative to increase their unlimited basic broadband plan speeds. Reliance Jio to get leased line circuits from BSNL in North-East

Spectrum Auction to start from February 25 for 800, 900, 1800 and 2100 MHz

Department of Telecom (DOT) has issued Notice Inviting Applications( NIA) for next spectrum auction to be held from February 25th. Spectrum in 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz will be put for sale which is expected generate at least Rs 80,840 cores earnings to the government. Ericsson bags Idea Cellular’s 3G network deal for $45 mn

Idea cellular has chosen Ericsson as its telecom equipment vendor for 2G network modernization and 3G network rollout in Delhi. Ericsson has secured the deal from Idea Cellular for $45 million. PM Modi approves DoT’s proposal to auction 800, 900 & 1800 MHz bands

The union cabinet, headed by PM Narendra Modi today gave principal approval for DOT's proposal to auction spectrum in 800, 900 & 1800 MHz bands. Government expect to fetch a whooping Rs 64,840 crore from largest spectrum auction in Indian history. BSNL to setup public WiFi hotspot in South zone with speed up to 10 Mbps

BSNL has awarded contract to QuadGen Wireless Solutions Pvt Ltd for setting up and operate Wi- Fi hot spots at public places in South zone. TATA Docomo revises 2G and 3G data packs in Kerala circle. Reduces data by 50%

TATA Docomo has silently revised its 2G and 3G data pack in Kerala circle. Available data for certain packs were reduced by up to 50% complimenting with increased validity for certain packs.
