Empowered Group of Ministers Proposes To Lower Spectrum Price

The Empowered Group of Ministers, chaired by Home Minister P Chidambaram, has proposed to lower the reserve price for the spectrum to be auctioned to Rs 14,000 crore to Rs 16,000 crore. GSM Operators Add 7.27 Million Subscribers in May 2012 – Airtel Leads

India’s GSM operators added 7.27 million subscribers in May 2012, taking the total number of GSM subscribers in the country to 677.85 million. Uttar Pradesh (East) reported highest customer additions of over 1.44 million subscribers. Airtel reported the highest addition of 2.01 million subscribers during the month, taking its total subscriber base to 185.30 million.
