Uninor To Launch Its GSM Service TodayUninor the GSM mobile service of Unitech Wireless, a joint venture between India’s real estate major Unitech and the world’s 6th largest mobile services provider Telenor Group, is all set to roll out its GSM Mobile Service in India  today.

To Launch the GSM Mobile services the operator made agreements with approximately 1,000 distributors and 300,000 points of sale in place across  India. To provide the seamless GSM Mobile connectivity approximately 12,000 base stations installed in 7 telecom circles till today.




Uninor GSM services will be launched simultaneously in the circles Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh East, Uttar Pradesh West and Bihar (including Jharkhand), making it the widest coverage any operator has launched within India.

According to the company statement “Uninor holds license to provide mobile phone services across all 22-telecom circles in India. The company is planning to roll-out services in 8 circles by the end of 2009.
