In India we are aware of a void in the Music products industry. Nokia Music was the first service wherein we could buy the music tracks online. With Nokia Music recently shut down in India it has left behind an underserved industry. Aircel is looking forward to partner with music products so that it can give its subscribers base a much-needed boost and also spike up the data consumption on its networks.
This initiative is the after effect of the internal research by the Teleco that says subscribers are ready to pay premium for the music services. Aircel has joined hands with phone manufacturer Micromax and readied a Music streaming application called the Canvas Beat. Additionally they also launched a ‘Cut Your Dialer Tune’ service which will let the consumers cut the caller tune and tune it so that the part they like the most will become the caller tune.
Anupam Vasudev, CEO Marketing Aircel stated “Music is an integral part of Aircel's strategy to redefine data user experience. The intent behind introduction of various music offerings was to increase data penetration and usage among the company's users, especially the youth” He further added that this service can be a great tool to add-on the first time users reports ET .
Recently Aircel also launched a new services called ‘Aircel Music Mornings’ a data-free access to Saavn’s comprehensive music catalog between the hours of 6 am and 9 am and ‘Mobile Radio’ for its customers. Airtel has also introduced a dedicated music product called WYNK which was also launched targeting the data users.
