Six new channel licenses issued, total number of channels in India has reached 832

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has issued licenses to six new television channels, taking the total number of television channels in the country to 832. India’s total broadband user base is 99.20 million as of March 2015, rural user base stands at 25.51 million

India’s rural broadband user base has reached 25.51 million, with Karnataka being the state with the highest rural users. Around 2.77 million users are from rural Karnataka.
