LANDLINE SERVICE PROVIDER CAN NOT USE ’95’ SERIES ANYMORE

RELIANCE ADDS 3.3 MN CUSTOMERS IN FEBRUARY

Reliance Communications (RCom) has added 3.38 million new customers in February 2009 on both GSM and CDMA networks, increasing its total subscriber base to 69.38 million.However,this is below RCom’s subscriber addition of around 5 million recorded during the previous month. MOBILE TARIFFS TO COME DOWN,TRAI CHOPS CALL TERMINATION CHARGES

Indian Telecom regulator TRAI today slashed call termination charges by 33 per cent, a move which would result in bringing down the mobile tariffs for consumers. Termination charges are paid by one operator to another on whose network the call ends.The regulator has reduced the termination charges on local calls to 20 paise a minute from existing 30 paise.
