BROADBAND SPEED SHOULD BE 2MBPS :TRAI

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has  recommended that the Department of  Telecom (DoT)  should make it mandatory for Broadband speeds to be at least 2 mbps. That means any of Broadband service offered in India to customers in the market would have to be 2 mbps and more. LEADING MOBILE OPERATORS FINED BY DOT

The Department of Telecom has imposed a penalty on mobile operators, including Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications, Tata Teleservices, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd and Idea Cellular for not verifying the details of all their mobile subscribers. ETISALAT-SWAN GETS NOC TO BUY ALLIANG INFRA

MTNL MUMBAI WITHDRAWN THE 95 DIALING SERVICE

MTNL Mumbai withdrawn the 95 dialing service from its Landline and CDMA Garuda Network from today. RELIANCE GSM SERVICE IN J&K UNDER DOT SCANNER

The Department of Telecom has sought clarification from Reliance Communications as to why the company has started its GSM based mobile services in Jammu and Kashmir without taking clearances from security agencies. TRAI HAS RECOMMENDED PHONE NUMBER CHARGE!

In a bid to encourage efficient use of numbering resources, DoT has been asked to charge a special levy for numbers allocated to telecom operators.
