    This new 100 sms per day rule by TRAI is rubbush! why should the people suffer because of the telemarketing companies? Although DND is there, the government still comes up with this new rule. This is useless. Please scrap this rule at the earliest so that we can send sms like before. SMS is the most convenient way of communicating. hope the government understands this!

  • Vicky_run October 8, 2011 12:40 pm

    Guys, trai ne kaha tha ki agar users satisfied nahi huye to wo 100sms/day k rule ko 150-200sms/day kar sakte hai,
    1st- trai ye tae karega kisse puch kar? Ham apni baat rakhe kaha?
    2nd- jab dnd facility hai to bulk msg time limit 9to9 kya soch kar di?

    NEW DELHI: The number of mobile subscribers in India rose to 791.38 million in February with the addition of 20.2 million connections, official data shows.

    According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the wireless user base grew 2.62 percent, from 771.18 million in January.

    While the share of urban subscribers declined to 66.36 percent from 66.42 percent, the share of rural subscribers increased from 33.58 percent to 33.64 percent, the report said.

    With this, the total number of telephone subscriber base touched 826.25 million, registering a growth of 2.50 percent.

    Overall teledensity in India reached 69.29.

    However, according to the report, of the total 791.38 million subscribers in February, only 562.98 million subscribers were active subscribers on the date of peak visitor location register (VLR).

    VLR is a temporary database of the subscribers who have roamed into the particular area, which it serves. Each base station in the network is served by exactly one VLR, hence a subscriber cannot be present in more than one VLR at a time.

    The growth in this category was led by Vodafone , which added 3.56 million users to take its subscriber base to 130.92 million users.

    Reliance Communications followed next with an addition of added 3.3 million new subscribers, taking its subscriber base to 132.18 million.

    Telecom giant Bharti Airtel added 3.2 million subscribers to take its total number of customers to 159 million.

    Idea Cellular added 2.51 million subsribers, increasing its subscribers count to 86.8 million while Uninor added 1.27 million subscribers to have 21.57 million subscribers.

    According to the data, the broadband subscriber base grew 2.34 percent from 11.21 million in January to 11.47 million in February 2011. However, the wireline segment declined marginally from 34.94 million in December to 34.87 million at the end of February.

    KOSHIKA license was cancelled in 2002 – how can an LRN code be issued in 2010 ????
    >> koshika telecom not listed here. why?

  • DB January 22, 2011 10:54 pm

    @ MAX … pls post in MOBILE CODES and not GSM SUBSCRIBE BASE !!
    there is no way you can find out via voice… if every operator puts in a pre-connect-prompt then there will be huge load on the network (keep in mind they are already playing pre-connect message on HelloTunes/CallerTunes/CallMeTunes). So the only way you will know if via the LRN code … hence we need the operators to share the LRN code …. TATA DOCOMO is already doing so in the SMS DELIVERY REPORT.

    >> how can we identify ported number now?? is there any procedure started by operator like u calling to some one and u get hear the message before connect the call like ” YOU ARE CALLING TO VODAFONE”

    @bharathkumara

    @BHARATKUMARA

    Its not possible to segreate 2G and 3G base for the following reasons:

    (1) Technology: Operators have a common MSC (Switch) & HLR (Subscriber Database) for both 2G/3G services

    (2) Data Reporting to COAI: Operators report subscriber numbers from HLR Base – no distinction of 2G or 3G

    (3) Dynamic Subscriber nature: one can be 2G today & 3G in a few minutes, whne you activate the service (and vice versa once deactivated)

    Hope this clarifies!

    >>can u please update the 3G subscriber data seperately , instead of 3G is mixing with 2G, in bsnl 3g and 2G is added, please >>make sure, is added or not, if u updated is right, then please seperate the data.

    Meanwhile music maestro A R Rehmanhas also created a new theme music for Airtel. The operator expanded its global footprint to the neighbouring SAARC by acquiring 70% stake in Warid Telecom. Completion of deal with the South African player-Zain has made Bharti Airtel the world’s first telecom services MNC and also the world’s fifth largest company.

    All these operators should give the figures of active connections else it is misleading factor. A wrong information by the operator should lead to cancellation of Licence with heavy fines. I am always confused with TRAI, DOT, GOVT and Courts. I dont know who is the king of these. If Trai rules something, Operators move to DOT, DOT moves to Govt, Govt and Trai moves to court….getting mad.

    Its not like that raghu. Uninor does not have good service in terms of network. Because of low tariff their subscriber base in increasing but after some months due to por network coverage churn rate will be more. Uninor custombers wont be able to give good revenue to company. Suppose anyone is giving you 40 rupees free talktime if you take a free sim then almost all people will buy.

    once my friend quipped that by default all govt servants should be atheists,for, govt itself is god (all-provider) for them. likewise i would like to fashion my statement like this: by default all tele customers should be thankful to TTSL, for, they only gave india a sound PER-SEC pulse, thus saving all guys from wasteful MIN-pulse, isn’t it? I FAIL TO UNDERSTAND WHY ‘TRADITIONAL BIG TICKET’ CUSTOMERS , WHO MERRILY WEPT OUT THEIR MONEY THROUGH AGE-OLD MINUTE BASED PULSE, ALL THESE YEARS, ARE STILL NOT RECOGNIZING THIS FACT! EVEN GIANTS LIKE AIRTEL WERE FORCED TO REVISE THEIR STUBBORN MIN-BASIS. HOW CAN ONE FORGET THIS? REMEMBER seniors need not be superiors !!

    the leading indication from latest data is that Airtel is loosing its charm amongst the customers. Though it was not topping the addition charts frequently last year too but August numbers are very disappointing. It will stand at 6th position if RCOM numbers would come better(i hope they will be). Uninor,Docomo and aircel offering good competition to old ARROGANT fellows.

    I have bsnl cdma prepaid mobile connections . My Nos are 9195220055 and 9195621229 . Both these are o/g @ Re.1/- tarriff . I wanted to know any details regarding tariffs, plans, migrations etc. As I called 9400024365 they say we don’t have details for cdma . It is wll . So better call 1500 . 1500 ppl say we can give details about landline only ! It is said that ” cdma” and ”gsm” are alike in most aspects ! But cdma won’t accept top-up of Rs.55/- . It allows only multiples of 10 . Good ! Could someone tell me some way to get some information about bsnl cdma mobile service !

  • Kaushik Roy September 16, 2010 12:40 pm

    I have seen from COAI site that LOOP has some customers in Kolkata but not in Rest of Bengal and Videocon has some customers in Rest of Bengal but not in Kolkata
    Since LOOP and VIDEOCON are sharing towers so they enter West Bengal separately

  • Awara September 16, 2010 11:52 am

    Aircel Has Added 1.6 Million Subscribers and i think This is the 4th Largest or 5th Largest in this Time

  • Awara September 16, 2010 11:39 am

    Airtel Had Lost it’s Popularity in Karnataka Due to Aircel, DOCOMO and Uninor and it has added 12,602 Customers in July and 15,419 in Karnataka
    Aircel Has Got 4th Rank and Added 86034 Customers in Karnataka With Having a Subscribers Base of 12,21,544
    Uninor Has got First and Added 1,25,691 Customers and Having a Subscribers Base of 6,53,262
    Wow Uninor and Aircel you had Successfully Added Customers.
    I think Both of These GSM Players Expand Their Network Soon in All Over Karnataka
    ;)

    tejas :
    From the latest figures released by coai….its seems that uninor is the biggest winner for august 2010. 2.2 million additions that too with just 13 circles. thats remarkable…n signals a great future for uninor.

    but we have to see how many customers are spending money for ter recharge.
    but uninor in karnataka has stopped giving offers like 20 RS SIM WIT 100TT. uninor is maintaining standerd :)

    VIDEOCON has 20 customers in West Bengal Circle and LOOP has 58 customers in Kolkata
    LOOP signal is available in major part of kolkata.
    Is Videocon signal is live in West Bengal Circle ? Can any body from West bengal confirm this ?

  • Awara September 15, 2010 8:06 pm

    Yes Initially Aircel, Docomo and Uninor are Having More Than 10 Lakh and best Point is Uninor Which is Succeded to Added More Than 1.2Lakh Customers Last Month Aircel and DOCOMO had Beat Airtel in Karnataka and Now This is the Point For Aircel,DOCOMO and Uninor Had Beat the Airtel in Karnataka Wow i Thankful For The Aircel, DOCOMO and Uninor Who Beated That Idiot Airtel

  • Amit.g September 15, 2010 5:58 pm

    uninor added 22lak customers in aug n now ter subscriber base is 90lak. i guess this is LESS THAN 1P/SEC BADALTA DISCOUNT EFFECT.in karnataka tey added 20000 customers in july n now in aug they added 1.2lak. But still ter network quality is the best. UNINOR ROCKS!!!
    AIRTEL HAS FAILED FOR THE SECOND TIME IN KARNATAKA WIT JUST 30K ADDITIONS

  • Abhi September 15, 2010 4:46 pm

    And the surprise feat is Uninor which added whooping 22 lakhs in August..

  • Kaushik Roy September 15, 2010 4:36 pm

    Airtel is feeling the heat
    they added just 20 lakhs customers in August, lowest in last 24 months
    Circles like Karnataka they got only 15k same as last month and in JK negative 1 lakh
    they should give more offers than existing ones to get some customers

    please amit, here i am telling one thing, sorry for convincing u, tataindicom tovers is installed every where, as it is in that tover, they r giving service tatadocomo,virjin,t24, they are same server, same tovers, same infrastructure, and its dual technology, tataindicom cdma signal is used also to tatadocomo, virgin,virjin(gsm), t24, one thing,
    aircel is sharing tover with bsnl or tatadocomo, i am working as telecom analizer, i am a electronic engg, k, please dont thing as u r own, in every major cities have lot problems with telecom provider, exept then small cities like kolar, bangalore have big problem in al major telecom, i think r u know about this, i dont know, what u exept but sorry, i am a technician,

    In Karnataka, idea customers are growing, but it has to improve its coverage area. Newly entered tata ducomo is made nice coverage compaired to idea and they are getting nice growing customers. One more thing when idea has been taken over the spice at that time punjab customers were 3 million, but in karnataka they were 1.3 million, but now in punjab it is 3.4 million and in karnataka it is 3 million, but still the company is not serving as better as they are serving to punjab customers

    Hello Sir Are you in The Year 1910 or 2010? IDEA Cellular is Losing it’s Customer Base in Karnataka Circle and One Thing you must Have to Know Coverage is important Matter but even Idea is Losing customers in Karnataka Because of Third Class Services
    and Even Internet is too Slow than Aircel( 90% better than Last year). Lots of guys crushing IDEA SIM Cards. Idea is showing Fake Subscribers Base

  • velu August 23, 2010 6:10 am

    the reason is new operators will not get additional spectrum at any cost. so beyond certain base they will also face problem like airtel and vodafone

  • velu August 23, 2010 6:06 am

    i dont think so arjun. herein TN the subscriber base of aircel is higher than airtel. but the last year dec quarter revenue of airtel is around Rs 800 and aircel is around 350 crore. in our district we always get aircel sim free with 60rs free talk time

  • ARJUN.C August 22, 2010 11:02 am

    I THINK DOCOMO WILL GAIN THE HIGHEST REVENUE AND HIGHEST SUBSCRIBER BASE THAN AIRTEL AND AIRCEL GAINS THE HIGHEST SUBSCRIBERS BASE AND HIGHEST REVENUE THAN IDEA CELLULAR IN KARNATAKA

  • abhijith July 31, 2010 8:02 am

    BSNL,MTNL,AIRTEL,TATADOCOMO is the top quality telecom operators value for money… vodafone waste no proper gprs plan,call drop high,no unique billing ,all high cost bonus cards( above openion about telecom operators in tamil nadu )

  • peeyush July 30, 2010 11:10 pm

    MTNL is the most under rated operator….. trust me guys…. if u want value for money …go for mtnl…. its better than any private operator…. it has the best technology and the cheapest and most affordable rates…. and yes…the roaming penetrates across the nation with mtnl/bsnl.
    the private operators just make money by fooling you…. by luring you into foolish schemes… compare their schemes with mtnl… the wouldn’t stand a chance…. i dont work for mtnl, im just another user in delhi… i hav been using mtnl and airtel….and the comparison is dramatic…..

    Very soon Vodafone will beat Airtel in every field.@Amit.G

  • Rohit June 6, 2010 8:11 pm

    I think Gross subscriber additions are good see in voliumes but the telecom business runs by RMS (Revenue Market Share)…which is most important from any companies point of view…45% of gross additions for the current month give you a zero usage for the next month….

  • Amit.G June 6, 2010 2:27 pm

    Vodafone is also adding 30lak/month customers just like Airtel.. chances are ter tat vodafone will beat Airtel in comming years.

    most operators’ lifetime cards expire if not recharged for Rs.200 in 6 months. the lifetime deal is just for them to show huge number of subscribers even if they are not making a single out going call for up to 6 momths!! hoping that number portability comes in soon, then there will be tons of people changing operators…

  • saket April 19, 2010 10:16 pm

    @sAmAr Ali
    From where this exact figure of 27% came?
    why do company terminate after MNP, they will come up with new trick to keep them active.

  • Jain April 19, 2010 9:25 pm

    yr Jab Tata Docomo Rajasthan or Gujrat Mein Laynch Ho faya hai to usko Bhi add kro.

  • sAmAr Ali April 19, 2010 9:22 am

    Forget all the figures after mobile number portability more than 27% will drop as most of the connection is not active, some are in safe custody, lifetime account/number which most of them don’t use. At any given point of time most of youth had more than one SIM/connection from multiple operator’s for their offered on vas some are cheap on calls & more. After launching dual SIM headset in the market every 1/3 of person had this mobile, some use for business some for 2 timing flirting/dating etc.. In my gang most of them use, at list I’ve 6 SIM with me, From ever operator one for msg & other for cheap night calling, What to do operator doesn’t office all this in one single account.
    ——————————————————————————————————————–
    Once mobile number portability is launch all unused connection after 6 month will be de-activated so 27% drop is normal and about 17% customer on 2G network will only move to 3G network for video telephone services & also expensive handsets this changes are only in cities, coz all the Telco’s are bidding for category A & few state from category B most will be with 2G but I’m sure new 3G handset will be priced as low as a value of 2G mobile today.
    ——————————————————————————————————————–
    Note: The number of customer touching 500 million will drop by 27% by next year and I’m gone lose my connection too if I don’t keep my SIM in use.

  • DUANE April 2, 2010 11:06 pm

    @Suchisuvra Sen

    SUCHISUVRA ~ Please make your request to AUSPI (Association of Unified Telecom Operators) as the license that RELIANCE GSM (non-Reliance-Telecom) circles holds and also TATA DOCOMO (all circles launched) are COMBINED or UNIFIED LICENSE for both CDMA and GSM… hence they report the same combined.

    However, feel free to contact UASPI with your request – TELECOM TALK has no role to play in data reported by opertators to COAI (for GSM) or AUSPI (CDMA/GSM)

    @Swaps

    SWAPS … you are not aware that the RELIANCE TELECOM CIRCLES (AS, BH, HP, KOL, MP, NE, OR & WB) are still updated by COAI as they are a different license, part of the original 1995 GSM license! However the new RELIANCE COMMIUNICATION circles are updated by AUSPI. So what you are asking for is not possible!

    >>Please give TATA DOCOMO Subscribers Figure

  • DUANE March 20, 2010 1:36 pm

    @saket
    SAKET I am not calculating anything here – this is the official calculation by COAI and AUSPI whereby COAI takes into consideration the data of “old” Reliance GSM circles (RELIANCE TELECOM) and not the “new” circles (RELIANCE MOBILE) which launched in Jan’09.

    Hope this clears – I will not be changing any data from the 2 difference sources, however you can do the maths yourself!

    @abhijith can`t happen in near future.quality is ultimate.look at uninor reviews.the uninor customers r complaining of call congestion hazards.the cheaper is a srvc. provider the poorer is its ntwrk. quality,because none of the company came here to do-“samaj seva”.the will invest in their netwok from the money they r taking from their customers.so more cheaper>more poorer quality.

    but still, TV Advertisements are necessary, we can take Aircel and Tata Docomo’s strategy as a perfect example, they added millions of new subscribers in a short span of time after their advertisements hit the TV sets across the country,so if new companies like MTS are willing to add millions of new customers in a little time,they have to actually advertise their product heavily on TV

    OH my friend… This is most expected thing from those robbers… Even I am waiting for MNP to change my Mom’s Airtel postpaid number to Docomo Prepaid number… Not just me, many many lot and lots of people are waiting for MNP to switch from Airtel and Vodafone… You can understand from the floods of comments here except some fanboy comments of those operators…

    But by delaying MNP, OR say by spending money to delay MNP, they are wasting their precious money, especially their margins are travelling downhill nowadays… Further many loyal users of those robbers are already frustated due to lack of nice roaming (in all plans) and SMS packs comparing the competition especially Reliance and Docomoooe…

    Delaying of MNP is actually more risk for them than facing MNP, imho…

    Hey ,

    TATA DOCOMO – Is the Best .
    I was sticking with someother operator so long and now with TATA DOCOMO i am saving a lot.
    No operator other than Tata Docomo is promising for Life Time seconds pulse.
    Reliance is also not promising seconds pulse more than 1 year.
    The Major advantage with TATA DOCOMO is – Rate Cutter Rs.54.
    This rate cutter help u to cut the call cost by 2 (i.e., 1paise / 2seconds ).
    This is saving my money a lot.
    Hope u wud also be benefited .
    Go For TATA DOCOMO ONLY – The Network that really Rocks in all aspects .

  • Satyapal November 23, 2009 10:54 am

    As per TRAI a record 16.67 millions mobile subscribers were added in Oct-09 including both GSM & CDMA, taking the overall mobile subscriber base to 488.40 million registering a 3.53% growth rate. It sounds great.
    Pls update CDMA figures to reflect operators overall position.

  • Abhi November 23, 2009 12:23 am

    CDMA figures are still not updated..

  • kaushik November 22, 2009 11:37 am

    what happen to Telecom Talk ? Its subscriber base for October 09 is still not updated

  • kluge November 21, 2009 1:40 pm

    It should not amalgamate figures of Tata Indicom and DoCoMo.It should always circulate separately.

  • Swaps November 20, 2009 11:59 am

    According to AUSPI TATA added-
    52 customers in Assam
    -2072 customers in Delhi
    -2935 customers in Himachal Pradesh
    -21979 customers in Rajasthan
    -6100 customers in Gujarat
    -3772 customers in Punjab
    -7442 customers in West Bengal
    In these circles there is no TATA Docomo and Punjab didn’t had Docomo in the month of October. The figures reveal that TATA Indicom is in loss and same might be in the case of other circles. Only Docomo helping in gaining customers.

    • Sanjay Bafna November 20, 2009 12:13 pm

      All above circle which you mention in the list was already not good circles for Indicom CDMA and Just understand the fact Why TTSL and TTML not providing separate data for GSM and CDMA ?

  • Arindam November 20, 2009 9:47 am

    I thing airtel in west bengal need to create better signal for increase the customar.

  • Abhi November 20, 2009 12:11 am

    @Sanjay Bafna
    I know TTSL and RCom report their GSM and CDMA data to AUSPI.
    And TTSL(along with TTML) has added maximum subscriber over past 3 months.In Oct too it has added more than any other operator(including Vodafone,Airtel)
    This is the fact and if I am wrong,you may search Google News with tata docomo.Reuters have released an article today regarding this.
    It is true that TTSL figures include GSM+CDMA but it will always be like that and you have to compare using this data only.
    And CDMA additions are very low this month for tatas as seen and interpreted in circles where they are standalone operator(ie no GSM) till Oct viz UP,Rajasthan,Gujarat,Delhi etc.
    And still if you don’t believe so you may wait for month end when consolidated figures of all operators are released by TRAI.

  • zeeshan November 19, 2009 8:35 pm

    Tata and Reliance will not provide its respective subscriber base separately. By doing this reliance will find itself at second spot after Airtel with subscriber base of 84,112,632 as according TRAI till 30-Sep..

  • Abhi November 19, 2009 5:30 pm

    @Fahad
    Buddy the thing you are telling is on the basis of data released by GSM body association,COAI which releases its data early and doesnot include Tata and Reliance.
    Tata and Reliance report their GSM and CDMA additions to AUSPI and it is released 9-10 days after COAI data are released.
    AUSPI data are released today on and you can check Tata has added 39.32 lakh subscribers opposed to 29.8 lakh of Vodafone.
    Hence Tata is again #1 in terms of subscriber additions 3rd time in a row.

    • Sanjay Bafna November 19, 2009 6:43 pm

      @abhi,
      I always look into that and just for you info COAI does not included TATA and Rcom figure just because they are not interested to provide separate Data for GSM and CDMA.
      TTSL data by AUSPI is for CDMA+ GSM so TATA is not Number One as you think.

  • Fahad November 19, 2009 5:29 pm

    In gsm sector Vodafone added highest no. Of subscriber’s in oct. And tht is true whch can’t be faded out…

  • Abhi November 19, 2009 5:25 pm

    @Sanjay Bafna
    You can check on AUSPI’s site.
    I didn’t expect answers like this from you.
    Tata Indicom(CDMA) is showing very sluggish growth where it is standalone operator(ie no Tata Docomo). You can see negative growth in HP,Gujarat,Rajsthan,Punjab etc and nominal additions in Delhi,UP(E) etc. It is its GSM services which are adding numbers.Eg karnataka 6.3 lakh,AP 6.3 lakh,Maharashtra 5.6 lakh etc.
    Hence YOU CAN COMPARE DOCOMO with Vodafone,Airtel etc.
    It is just due to Docomo that it has aagin emerged as number one gross adder leaving behind Vodafone.

  • Fahad November 19, 2009 5:02 pm

    @Abhi
    buddy in oct. Highest no. Of subscribers were added by vodafone i.e 3 mn followed by airtel 2.2 mn ,idea 1.7 mn and so on …in oct. 9.83 mn subscribers were added …source ndtv profit and ndtv 24×7…

  • ANIRBAN November 19, 2009 4:40 pm

    update it as soon as possible……..

  • ANIRBAN November 19, 2009 4:32 pm

    @Abhi
    TATA’s figure including both cdma and gsm.so don’t compare it with airtel or vodafone etc

  • Abhi November 19, 2009 4:29 pm

    TATA TELESERVICES ADDS HIGHEST SUBSCRIBERS AND ITS A HAT-TRICK!!
    Tatas have done it yet again.
    It has added 3,932,375 subscribers in October taking its subscriber toll to 51,731,669.
    As per figures released by AUSPI, Reliance Comm added 1,659,715 subscribers taking its subscriber base to 74,762,940.

    Tatas have emerged as top subscriber grosser third time in a row,way ahead of Airtel(2702092),Vodafone(2980212),Idea(1900548),BSNL(603426),Aircel(2018164).

    • Sanjay Bafna November 19, 2009 4:38 pm

      @Abhi TTSL figure including both cdma and gsm. so Don’t compare it with GSM Service providers. Vodafone is on number on in the chart on GSM Segment

    I tell u a real story, 4 years back I was attend a marage party in entire village of bardhwan dirst. no electricity or laned phone connection in the village that time. all of my friends calling at night from my vodafone(hutch) phone,they all have other phone like reliance cdma, bsnl,airtel. but no network coverage. all the villagers use only hutch because only mobile tower in that is hutch. do you know how they charge their mobile battery. a small mobile shope having a inverter they takeing 1 rupees for chargeing the battery. that time hutch add was “where ever u goes our network follows”. that time hutch and now vodafone carried out that line. long live vodafone u are the best.

  • kluge October 26, 2009 2:35 pm

    Kolkata and west bengal are really a vodafone county.Nobody dares them anymore.

  • kaushik October 26, 2009 2:25 pm

    vodafone is baap of telecom operators in west bengal and its network tells the story

  • Duane October 24, 2009 10:14 am

    @Fahad

    FAHAD, this is as per VODAFONE data released by them to COAI. What they say can be something else.

    >>vodafone is sayng that they hav crossd 3 lakh custmrs in j&k bt here it z shwng sumthng different…which is the perfect report guys…

  • Duane October 24, 2009 10:13 am

    @teja
    TEJA DOMCOMO is part of the TATA INDICOM cdma base.

  • Abhi October 24, 2009 12:54 am

    Of course Docomo doesnot report its figures to COAI.
    It isbecause parent Tata Teleservices(TTSL) is a member of rival association,AUSPI.
    Hence,as Reliance does,TTSL also reports its combined userbase(CDMA+GSM) to AUSPI.It includes Indicom,Virgin and Docomo

  • Piyush October 24, 2009 12:46 am

    @Devraj
    Reliance comprises of two companies:

    1.Reliance Communications-It consists of its CDMA services and GSM services in 22 circles where it launched services in Jan’09.Its figures are consolidated and are reported to AUSPI.In the table above,you can see them under CDMA operators head.
    for example,it had total 6047777 GSM+CDMA subscribers in Andhra Pradesh in Sep.

    2.Reliance Telecom/reliable Internet-It consists of its GSM operations in 8 circles(in east region,MP and HP) where it is operating for years.Its figures are reported to COAI and come under GSM head in table above.In circles where it is present as Reliance Telecom(say Bihar),figures of Reliance Comm comprises of its CDMA services only

  • Johns October 23, 2009 5:41 pm

    It includes tata docomo also… Otherwise, tata cant add nearly 4 million in one month. So it includes the docomo magic

  • Joyanta October 23, 2009 4:56 pm

    @Abhi
    I think ‘Tata Docomo’ subscribers count is not included under the tata indicom section. its only the count of Tata Indicom+Virgin. My source of this news is one of my known person who works in docomo. He said, docomo figures are not currently get published to COAI. Thats why docomo figures are not here….

  • Devraj October 23, 2009 3:42 pm

    @Abhi

    What are the figures of Reliance

  • Fahad October 23, 2009 12:35 pm

  • Abhi October 23, 2009 12:16 pm

    @ANIRBAN
    Virgin figures are not releases separately.
    In the table above column named ‘Tata Indicom’ includes Tata Indicom,Tata Docomo & Virgin Mobile.Tata Teleservices reports its subscriber figures to CDMA association (AUSPI) and not to GSM association(COAI) hence its GSM and CDMA base is not distinguishable.

  • ANIRBAN October 22, 2009 5:31 pm

    TATA TELESERVICES EMERGES AS LARGEST COMPANY IN TERMS OF SUBSCRIBER ADDITIONS SECOND TIME IN A ROW

    Tata has done it yet again.Riding on the wave of its newly launched brand Tata Docomo,coupled with its innovative pay-per-call plan on CDMA platform,TTSL(along with TTML) has grossed highest subscribers in the month of September’09.
    It has roped 40,26395(i.e above 4 million) subscribers in the month of Sep’09 as compared to 3.43 million in August.
    Its subscriber base has risen to nearly 4.8 crore.
    While Tata managed to add impressive number of subscribers all of the rest telcos have seen drop in their user additions in September.India’s biggest mobile company has managed to get just 2.51 million subscribers,RCom 1.57 million,Vodafone-Essar 1.97 million,State-owned BSNL 1.3 million,Idea Cellular 1.39 million and Aircel 1.31 million.
    This trend is expected to continue in coming months because Tata Docomo is present in 11 circles only and is launching its services in 2-3 circles every month.October figures will see its surge due to launches in Haryana(Sep-end) and Kolkata(early October).However,RCom’s “Simply Reliance’ will add thrust to Reliance’s subscriber additions in October too.

  • bharat October 18, 2009 3:53 pm

    my rcom no was purchased in jan is already allocated to some1 else…automatically since i dint use it after firt three months

  • kaushik October 18, 2009 2:35 pm

    @saket
    rcom is specialist in fraud

  • saket October 18, 2009 12:38 pm

    i am expecting drop in rcom figure, if they are not doing fraud, because, CEP was introduced in JAN having 6month validity, then 3month grace period of those number, which are not recharged, so itcomes to SEPtember, ideally many these mobile sim card/number should be deleted from their system and subsciber count should not include those,

    But i think rcom will do fraud like incresing vailidity of those and will claim higher subsciber, with low ARPU.

  • kaushik October 17, 2009 7:00 pm

    ANAND why dont you walk into any TATA INDICOM outlet OR visit their registered office in Mumbai:
    TTML, Voltas Premises, T.B. Kadam Marg, Chinchpokli, Mumbai- 400033

    They will give you the correct information – from your saga it seems that yours is an AV CV REJECET (Address Verification OR Credit Verification failed) as you activated the SIM in Mumbai and then went roaming with it immediately! When they tried to VERIFY your ID (and ADDRESS) which is now being done as per VIGILANCE CELL OF DOT (post the Mumbai 26/11 Blasts) you were not available… Im sure you would not have answered 100% calls while on Roaming too? Anyways walk into their office & meet -

  • Duane September 15, 2009 9:56 pm

    @Poonam Kaura

    POONAM thank you for your suggestions… at TELECOM TALK we only share 100% Verified data – as there is no such data available on VAS (no operator will share their revenue on VAS details) we would not be able to publish it. Let the new operators get launched – when they submit their data to COAI I will ensure the base details are updated.

    >> hi,

    Mumbai 15th September 2009
    I got the SIM card on the 30th of August 2009 in Mumbai and it was activated ones I reached Hyderabad on the 31st of August 2009 and I used the TATA DOCOMO in Hyderabad as I was in roaming I had also recharged it number of times in Hyderabad. However when I was back to Mumbai on the 12th of September I was not able to make or receive calls and it showed “EMERGENCY” ON MY MOBILE. Tried to get in touch with Customer Service however after 3 calls and 10 minutes from my Vodaphone # could not reach the agent. Then sent an Email to TATA DOCOMO and received a response that the complain will be forwarded to the concerned Dept. However till date inspite of sending repeated mails and speaking to the Customer Service Agent “No Results”. Tried to register the Number on the net and was surprised to receive a message that “THIS TELEPHONE NUMBER SEEMS TO BE NOT A VALID PREPAID NUMBER”. Its SURPRISING and FRUSTRATING. And the end result is that TATA DOCOMO is FAST ASLEEP and does not want to be disturbed. SO I have lost my Balance, No service. So if you are going for TATA DOCOMO be prepared for the worse as “TATA DOCOMO SUCKS”.

  • rahul August 14, 2009 2:19 pm

    himachal pradesh is the circle with lowest subscribers

    airtel after 12 years of service got only 10 lakh customers here and the market leader

    Himachal Pradesh customer addition is very low

  • Tanmoy August 13, 2009 11:46 pm

    Indian base itz quite competetive …
    Airtel just rocks…

    @ Nagaraj

    the figures are on monthly basis

    u can get tata GSM figures in next month if they want to show to public

    reliance GSM dont show it to public

  • Nagaraj July 26, 2009 8:18 pm

    Quite unfortunate that, figures are not updated from 14th July.

    Cant see the progress of Tata DOCOMO in the list anywhere..they started services across southern India

  • Shyam Nandan Pandey July 26, 2009 8:14 pm

    @SALONI
    Please share the HR contact number & mail ID of Unitech Wireless Limited.

  • Anirudh July 16, 2009 4:44 pm

    Very useful statistics. But since RCom gsm has been in operation in all circles now, you should publish their overall pan india statistics. It should then be more appropriate figures.

  • Duane July 16, 2009 11:13 am

    @SALONI
    SALONI this is a GSM Subscriber base … the same is very transparent. However regret dont get the same transparency from the CDMA operators. So without any clarity would not like to place figures on the website.

  • Duane July 16, 2009 11:12 am

    @sukesh
    SUKESH will be done…

  • SALONI July 15, 2009 8:08 pm

    Please share some CDMA numbers…..

  • sukesh July 15, 2009 3:33 pm

    hey…this is a very nice chart/table….however i think now very soon tata docomo will be entered in this chart…..and their customer base also will grow as they launch all over india (right now theyre only in south india)…..i say this because they’ve got some kick ass VAS and tariff offers..especially the 1paisa/sec offer (http://tatadocomo.com/prepaid-plan-details.aspx)…so time to edit the chart soon i guess!

  • kaushik July 15, 2009 12:47 pm

    why airtel is getting only 6000-8000 customers per month in Mumbai Circle for last 6 months where as VODA getting average 70000-80000 customers there per month ?

    can any body explain this downfall ?

    also in UP (w) and haryana circle airtels performance is poor.

    @Debopratim Roy

    DEBOPRATIM … are you a BSNL employee
    >>>> :-) <<<<<

  • Duane July 14, 2009 9:47 pm

    @DEBOPRATIM ROY
    Hi DEBOPRATIM If Im not mistaken TRAI have laid out certain guidelines:
    – Suspended customers (Prepaid subs in Grace OR Postpaid customers temporarily deactivated) are not included
    – Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) is calculated as TOTAL REVENUE / TOTAL BASE

    So you see if they inflate their base the operator will be the loser as the ARPU will decline…
    So will their market value!!!

  • Duane July 14, 2009 9:44 pm

    @Anshul
    ANSHUL these are the Subscriber Numbers that a company chooses to report … usually would not include deactivated numbers (as this would impact the AVERAGE REVENUE PER USER as the number would be reduced!).

    However numebers which are in GRACE PERIOD (Prepaid customers) and TEMPORARY SUSPENDED (Postpaid customers who havent paid their bills etc) would be included.

    Hope this clarifies :-)

  • Duane July 14, 2009 9:41 pm

    @kaushik
    KAUSHIK … Loop has not launched commerically anywhere except MUMBAI – hence there are no “customers” to report numbers!
    The cards which they have in the market are all demo cards issues to employees and select personalisties who are doing a test of the network, connectivity & coverage.

    Once they go LIVE and start selling their SIM Cards to the general public, I will share their numbers in the following months update. Hope this clarifies.

  • Duane July 14, 2009 9:39 pm

    @Mridul Rao
    MRIDUL RAO … Reliance are not reporting their GSM numbers to COAI (Cellular Operators Association of India).
    This is intentional on their part – hence the same has not been reported here either.

  • Duane July 14, 2009 9:38 pm

    @subin
    SUBIN there is no official source of information as neither TATA nor RELIANCE choose to reveal their numbers. As such I would not like to share numbers which are speculated or non accurate.

  • Duane July 14, 2009 9:36 pm

    @Anil Dhanraj Sarda

    good job…

  • DEBOPRATIM ROY April 25, 2009 10:21 pm

    Remember all friends out here whatever customer base statistics you see out here at least have many left outs.I here mean that huge shift of customers from one operator to another or sim validity expired.Private operators tend to show an abrupt figure specially in case of new operants who have received spectrum for over a period of 6 months.Also there are cases where either sim card validity has expired or customer has migrated to another operator from current service provider if he/she isnt satisfied.So dont go always by numbers after all there may be another side of the story.
