I have been a vodafone customer for 10 yrs now. It seems they have forced all their customers to switch to 3G but their service Sucks. Too many call drops, battery drain out and whats shocking is.. sometimes you get forced latched on to basic GPRS (it shows E and data transfer is like dial up – area Kandivili and malad west) If you select WCDMA mode manually on your device, it gives poor signals, call drop etc. Vodafone sucks big time. Their 3G speed is horrible now. Earlier upto march 2012 it was the best.. now its worst.

I am quite frustrated with the BSNL mobile cellone service in Vasai. The service fluctuates from SOS in red to gprs to GPRS to edge to EDGE to 3g to 3G to 3G BB then back to SOS in red again, this cycle keeps repeating whole day daily. Note, I am 3G BB subscriber paying for this service @ Rs.999 monthly as service charges.
Google net surfing is practically impossible in Vasai Road inspite of this so called and advertised 3G service and its advantages.
BSNL authorities need to check on their ‘M’s viz MEN / MACHINE / MATERIAL / MONEY. Who is not doing his/her/its job insufficiently or inefficiently or who intends cheating the subscriber ?
Earlier during a phone call sometimes there used to be water rumbling sound during the call unable to hear the caller.
Now these days for the past one week this water rumbling sound heard on practically each and every call unable to hear the caller and complete the conversation. That means I need to call again to know the caller’s message. Is this to generate undue revenew or is BSNL trying to rob the consumers by cheating the consumer?
BSNL authorities in VASAI: I want to ask you is – Is this the service you intend providing BSNL subscribers ? Is this the best BSNL can do ?

Now day Airtel services automatically activated without customer knowledge. Speed of GPRS is too slow.
Airtel 3g service making me fool because, when i recharge for 30 min pack i was deducted from my main balance.
when i contact the customer care, they say you have not done any recharge. i have the proof of transaction ID
if i fight for justice, they block the customer care no. for me.
continuously two times i faced this problem one time i got recharged and customer care says small technical problem
second time i couldn’t i loose Rs 45 without using any service.
i m using bsnl 3g……….but 3g tower is very low…….please do something……

Note, my Blackberry Torch 9800 still shows EDGE inspite of being a subscriber for 3G network service since April 2011.
Net surfing is become now-a-days an impossible task.
These days I am facing a lot of network interuption.
Many a times the signal is SOS in red in my home network.
BSNL is has fallen into the fire from the frying pan.
This looks to be the end of BSNL atleast in Vasai.
Is there 3G facility in Maharashtra, Vasai ?

MTNL 3G still not available in Mira Road………..cant understand why only mira road and bhayandar are left out for 3G because beyond bhayandar bsnl takes over dolphin.

Myself Manish and i am using MTNL 3G in delhi region from last 20days. I heard about it’s chaeper rates and good connectivity so i opt Rs. 4500/- plan for 6months. This costs me Rs.750/- per month. But as i used it in my laptop i am surprised to check its speed. it merely gives me speed of 30-35kbps. Airtel 2G gives much better speed then MTNL 3G in delhi region. I complaint to Customer care regarding this. They give me complaint number and ask me my alternative number and told me that my problem will be sort out within a week but till date i don’t get call from MTNL. They are horrible and services are very much poor. Some parts of delhi also dont cover 3G region so at that place you also dnt get 3G signals.
So, in my opinion please don’t go for MTNL 3G in delhi region. You can opt airtel, although it is costlier but if you are looking for speed, it is the best.

i am using MTNL 3G in delhi region. I opted Rs. 4500/- unlimited plan for 6 months. Initially the downloading speed is good. But from the third day after opting the plan the speed goes down to 10Kbps. Now, u people can imagine the 3G speed of MTNL in delhi. I use Airtel 2G 98Plan before this and i got 25-30Kbps speed on that. So, friends please check properly the operator which you choose for 3G in your area by checking it’s speed initially and pesonnaly in Delhi i must say don’t go for MTNL. Its better you go for Reliance 3G or MTS Mblaze if you are heavy work on internet.

Extended to Kannur, Thrissur and Kollam in the 2nd phase…

we are residing in Ranisayer More and Bijpur area under Raniganj SSA in WB but EVDO/3G service is not available though the BSNL tower is within 1 kms. We the BSNL customers failed to understand for what reason these services are missing in this area. Competent authorities in ASANSOL, Raniganj, WB Circle are requested to look into the matter otherwise many BSNL customers will move to other service provider leaving the loyality to BSNL.
Mobile network in Vasai are a problem. Calls gets broken after a few seconds. Now recently I have noticed that there is a water rumbling sound when calls are connected then immediately gets disconnected. This occurs very frequently.
BSNL personell do something.
Today i send port out sms from vodafone and they provide me 2GB data for 1 month for remaining in the number, they said every month 35 rs rental will be deducted from your balance and u will get 2gb data which can be used in 3G signals, i am enjoying…yeyeyeyeyee……

This is to inform you that on 11.07.11 I was in Hyderabad, I was glad to notice the 3G BB network throughout my stay there was wonderful. My handset continously showed the icon 3G BB on the right hand side top corner.
Then on 12 & 13.07.11 I was in Visakhatpatnam, here too the network was wonderful, the icon 3G BB on my handset did not budge even for a second, so wonderful.
Hats-off to you Hyderabad and Vizag BSNL Officers for providing such glorious wonderful service to all your subscribers that they can be proud of.
But here in my Vasai, Dist. Thane, Maharashtra home network I hardly see the 3G BB icon on my handset, it may ne there for a minute and then next keeps fluctuating from ’3G BB’ to only ’3G’ to ‘EDGE’ to ‘edge’ to ‘no network’ to ‘SOS’. This is a regular feature.
Is BSNL Vasai, Kalyan or Pune doing their job or if you donot know what to do and provide impaccable service to your dependable BSNL subscribers then you dear gentlemen officers should learn from Hyderabad and Vizag BSNL.

I have noticed today on my Blackberry torch that the Blackberry service is not available. Hence called 18001801505 and spoke to Mr. Tarun who confirmed that the service is showing de-activated since May 19, 2011. The network area I am is Vasai, Dist. Thane, Maharashtra. If the services are de-activated than why am I getting bills charged with 3G Blackberry service since April 2011. This June 2011 bill also has been paid with the service charges. What is happening with BSNL, is there anyone who is accountable and answerable for this ? I called up again 18001801505, a male voice answered the call but was relunctant to give his name on repeated requests, do we have to talk to ghosts who has no name ? He was supposed to raise a complaint and I was holding for the complaint no. for 11-minutes, sounded like a ghost call hence I hang up. What has BSNL come to? Am I payng for all this ? Who is responsible at BSNL ? Does 3G Blackberry services really existing in Vasai, Dist. Thane, Maharashtra ?

I have subscribed to BB 3G service since April 2011.
What I have noticed is that the signal is EDGE that is 2G, it rarely shows 3G on my cell.
However I am paying service charges for 3G @Rs.999 per month.
How can BSNL do this when service is not available ?
Provide this service with immediate effect by resolving all the problems.
Also note the signal is very bad, especially when there is a power shut down in Vasai, there is no signal at all after that.
Request to be service oriented.
I am a BSNL subcriber for day one.
Do not ditch your subscribers.

Please let me know the Goa’s state district 3G coverage updates. BSNL almost 2G cellsites converted in Dualband after that why not mentioning the cities like Panaji, Mapusa, Margao, Ponda etc. BSNL offers 3g signal wherever they reached with 2G signals. Confusing to Goa circle subscribers.. This table shows that Goa cities are still under 2G network.

Correct. The fact is many have handsets that are 3g ready but WDCMA (not HSPA). Sets like N70 has no option for setting for umts (only dual/gsm), sets like nokia 6233 has umts/dual/gsm settings but no front camera. The DUAL mode will not accept stand alone umts mode. ALSO if 6233 is kept in umts mode NO 2G SIGNALS are accepted… as explained. A catch-22 situation.
The 3g technology is in its infant stage and many will like to have a try of video calling for obvious reasons (definitely thru MTNL and BSNL- surely not thru pvt. plays’ with rs.3/-min tariff !). MTNL installed a unique 3g system andis adoptable for DUAL as well as umts mode. But in BSNL at least I face the above explained dilemma.. !
One more interesting fact – Many will prefer video calling but will not like to throw/change WDCMA sets immediate and buy a HSPA sets only for video call. As for data usages there are many options too. Catch-22 again..!

1. You’ll get no network if you have selected ‘UMTS/3G’ in your Phone or Datacard. So, use ‘Dual Mode’ under network settings and when you travel out of 3G, it will automatically jump to 2G. When both 2G and 3G available, it will automatically elect 3G Network.
2. Yes, they can by making tie-ups with the License holders but service quality will depend on the original operator with whom they tie.

I want to know that
1) if we are using 3G network but someplace where 3G service is not lunch yet then what will happen with our network means we are still in 3G or 2G or no network.
2)another thing is that we saw that all operator did not get pan india licence for 3G spectrum, can they launch their services in that area where they did not get the spectrum or what?

Vodafone too not launched. Vodafone is the only telecom company in the world that has maximum coverage may be that why they take more time and directly launch 3g 21mbps instead of launching slower networks in a hurry.

It would look better if circles are placed vertically and operators horizontally. You see it is a big problem when you want to see about the circle placed on the rightmost of the sheet, you will not be able to the sequence of the operators.
Where is the Goa? Major cities like Margaon, Panaji, Mapusa, Vasco where BSNL have 100% 3G coverage. Please update.

DB: Actually, I use BSNL 3G. and believe it or not also use Voda 3G. unlike the marketing launch of Voda and no real speed that they give, BSNL 3G works like 3G. in many small towns, people still prefer bsnl unlike cities.

AD – BSNL covers most of INDIA when it comes to 3G … hence the list is of NON-BSNL coverage as MOST users dont use BSNL !!

One more point. BSNL 3G launched in Odisha in Bhubaneswar and Puri on 26 March 2009. In fact I’m using BSNL 3G since August 2009. But you have mentioned it wrongly as 24 Dec 2009.
Also, sorry for one mistake from my side. BSNL 3G is available in 48 cities of Odisha and not 28. I’ll try to get the list of cities if possible.

The bitter truth is only big cities have been covered. No 3G even after 2 years of launch in major towns by BSNL. Tata/BSNL has 3G coverage in 7 KM radius in Ambala. Same is the case in Yamunanagar. Even Jagadhri has very little area under 3G(Not all cell sites are 3G enabled). Rest are still uncovered. 3G can’t be a game changer for telecom operators until unless they bring the services to TIER II/ TIER III areas.
Most of the people in Ambala region are not opting for 3G as they have other options available to them like broadband services by BSNL and Airtel. Reason:- 3G not reliable at all. You know BSNL 3G speed is just 30KBps from last 2 months in these areas. Why don’t these operators come to towns where people have no means whatsoever for internet than the mobile internet(Using phone/USB modems).
