Following its Mobile Data packs, YOU Broadband which is a Vodafone owned entity has also released data carryover facility for its plans. To inform the users about the same, the YOU Broadband website first furnished the information and plans details adding up on the previous info that now data carryover will also be possible in broadband plans like Vodafone was doing in some of its mobile data plans. To give you a hint, the data carryover facility is a very useful feature for someone who is not able to complete their monthly or daily data FUP limit, in which case the unused data is carried over to the next billing cycle for usage. That being said, as per the website’s terms and conditions about the data carryover this facility will only be available for renewal of same FUP plans or by upgrading to higher FUP plan validity. This feature will also won’t be applicable for SME/SOHO, or any similar commercial enterprise.

A YOU Broadband user can carry forward up to 1000GB of data, and there's no timeframe for using the already carry forwarded data. Another thing to make a note here is any plan segment changes will result in rolled over data to lapse. For example, if a user changes the plan from FUP to unlimited or FUP to data plans, then all data carried forward shall lapse, which is understandable.

This new scheme from YOU Broadband comes right after Spectra's data rollover scheme implementation. Just a couple of days ago, Spectra Broadband rolled out 1 Gbps broadband plans to all its customers in Bengaluru, and at the same time, it introduced the data rollover scheme.

Leading telecom operator, Bharti Airtel is the first Internet Service Provider to implement the data rollover scheme for broadband users, which is now being followed by other major service providers. And Reliance JioFiber is also expected to offer data rollover scheme when it goes official. It would be great if other ISPs such as ACT Fibernet joins the same bandwagon and offer data rollover scheme. Furthermore, in a rumoured development, Vodafone is expected to bundle wired broadband and mobile services soon.
