Xolo Q610s gets updated with Android 5.0 Lollipop

Xolo, the premium manufacturer of budget smartphones in India has released the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Xolo Q610s in the country. The manufacturer recently launched the latest iteration of Android for Xolo One in the country and has promised the same for devices running HIVE UI on top of Android KitKat.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop update brings the much famed Material Design to the device with a more responsive UI. The notifications now get revamped, security features see an improvement with Android Smart Lock coming on board, settings becoming improved, support for 15 languages, ART as the default runtime, better and faster sharing of files and a better overall experience for the users.

The update is available as an OTA and has a size of 557MB. Alternatively, you can download it from the company’s software update page and update it manually.

Xolo has just stated on its official forum that Mediatek has finally ported Android 5.0 Lollipop for MT6582 SoC in the country. The company has stated that it will start sending the update for other handsets based on other chipsets of Mediatek as soon as it ports the same. It further stated that the developers are currently porting HIVE features to Android L code base while ensuring a fluidity across the system.

The updates from OEMs are important as they help in increasing the customer loyalty and providing timely updates for entry level devices goes a long way in earning customer trust in the longer run.
