Xiaomi recently announced the opening of its third manufacturing plant in Noida, India and launched its Mi Power Bank 2i lineup. Now a new smartphone made explicitly in India and for Indian audience is expected to launch soon as the company started teasing it on Twitter.

The brand tweeted a new Redmi series will launch in India on November 30th, touting it as the ‘Desh Ka Smartphone’. Until recently most smartphones released in India were first unveiled in China and later rolled out for the Indian audience. The Chinese phone maker, however, did not reveal the name of the new device.

While it remains unclear which smartphone is Xiaomi teasing, speculations suggest it could possibly be the Xiaomi Redmi 5A which launched in China last month. The Redmi 5A is the upgrade to ultra-affordable Redmi 4A which was launched last year for the price of 5999.

Reports are suggesting the newly teased Redmi phone may be geared exclusively towards India's rural market. Xiaomi VP and India MD Manu Kumar Jain had hinted the same in his cryptic tweets about a new phone. Jain said he has been on a mission to connect and meet with rural Indian during his “field trip across villages”.

"Gained insights on the way people lead their lives in rural India. Fingers crossed for a new product that I believe will help change their lives," Manu Jain previously tweeted.

Based on the Jain’s messages it is highly likely the new smartphone would be the Redmi 5A, but we're not sure on the information though.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A Features & Specs

The Redmi 5A features a polycarbonate body and packs a 5-inch HD resolution display. Under the hood, the device packs 1.2GHz Snapdragon 425 chipset with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage. The storage capacity can further be expanded with a microSD card.

Much like its predecessor, there is a 13MP rear shooter with PDAF and LED flash and a 5MP secondary camera. A 3000mAh battery powers the device with 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity options. Available in Gold, Pink, and Grey the device is expected to launch later this month.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is priced at Rs. 5,999, but being a 'Made in Smartphone,' the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone will be priced at an affordable rate, which would take Xiaomi to a whole new level.
