Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 vs Redmi Note 6 Pro: Everything That’s Different

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7 on Thursday in China for starting price of 999 Yuan which roughly translates to Rs 10,400. With the Note 7, Xiaomi takes its Note series to a whole new level altogether. The Note 7 comes with some of the very premium features found in only expensive phones like waterdrop notch, gradient finish, 48MP camera, Snapdragon 660 chipset and many more. Compared to the Redmi Note 6 Pro, the Redmi Note 7 is a major upgrade. The best thing about any Xiaomi product is the price and same is the case with even the Note 7. Xiaomi is offering all the aforementioned premium features at a very minimal cost. Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 7 3GB+32GB storage model for 990 Yuan (roughly around Rs 10,400), the 4GB+64GB storage model of the phone is priced at 1199 yuan (roughly around Rs 12,400) and lastly the 6GB+64GB of internal storage model of the Redmi Note 7 comes at 1399 yuan (roughly around Rs 14,500). Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 7 in China and as of now the company hasn’t revealed any details when will it bring the phone to India.

So what is the different between the new Redmi Note 7 and last year’s Redmi Note 6 Pro?

Design and Display

The Redmi Note 7 comes with gradient finish while on the front there’s a waterdrop notch which includes the selfie camera. In comparison, the Redmi Note 6 Pro includes a traditional notch and a plastic build back cover with metallic inserts. The Redmi Note 7 comes with a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ LTPS display with a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels, 19.5:9 aspect ratio. In comparison, the Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with a 6.26-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display paired with a 19:9 aspect ratio.

Processor, RAM and Storage Options

On the hardware front, the Redmi Note 7 is powered by 2.2GHz Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC with Adreno 512 GPU, up to 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Redmi Note 7 comes in three models – 3GB+32GB, 4GB+64GB and 6GB+64GB. In comparison, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 636 SoC paired with Adreno 509 GPU, up to 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Note 6 Pro comes in two models – 4GB+64GB and 6GB+64GB.

Camera

On the rear panel, the Redmi Note 7 comes with a primary 48MP camera with aperture f/1.8 and secondary camera of 5MP. On the front, the Note 7 comes with a 13MP selfie camera. The Redmi Note 6 Pro includes a primary camera of 12MP with Dual Pixel autofocus and aperture f/1.9 and a secondary camera of 5MP. On the front, the Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with dual cameras. There’s a primary camera of 20MP and a secondary camera with 2MP.

Battery

The Redmi Note 7 comes with a 4000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0. The Redmi Note 6 Pro also comes with a massive 4000mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
