Xiaomi's upcoming smartphone in its popular Redmi Note lineup would be the Redmi Note 5 (rumour roundup). The Chinese company enjoyed tremendous success with the Redmi Note 3 and Redmi Note 4 in both India and China and looking for the same with the Redmi Note 5 as well. Recently, a report revealed all the specifications of the upcoming Redmi Note 5, and now, a leaked image surfaced online shows various Redmi Note 5A retail box packages.
However, the package belongs to the Redmi Note 5A and not the Redmi Note 5. The Note 5A might be a smaller variant of the Redmi Note 5, but there is not much information known about the device at the moment. Last year, Xiaomi released a number of smartphones in the Redmi 4 series such as Redmi 4A, Redmi 4, Redmi 4 Prime, etc. However, the company released only one variant of the Redmi Note 4, which is Redmi Note 4X with Indian specifications in China.
The Redmi Note 4 and Redmi Note 4X differs in the processor department because the latter uses a Snapdragon 625 chip, while the former has a MediaTek Helio X20/X25 chip inside. The same might happen this year as well, and the Redmi Note 5A is likely to be the smaller variant of the Redmi Note 5.
As mentioned earlier, the complete specifications of the Redmi Note 5 have leaked online, a week ago. The Redmi Note 5 will equip a 5.5-inch Full HD display, same as its predecessors. The device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset, paired with 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM. The Redmi Note 5A may not house the Snapdragon 630 because it will be a smaller variant of the phone.
The Redmi Note 5 will house a 16MP Sony Exmor sensor at the rear, paired with a decent 13MP front-facing camera. The rear camera might be capable of recording 4K videos. The device would be slightly slimmer at 7.5mm thickness, thanks to the smaller 3790mAh battery. The smartphone is said to run Android 7.1.1 Nougat based MIUI 9 at the launch itself.
Several other rumours also point out that the device will be launched early next month, which is most likely to happen. Also, make a note that the Redmi Note 5A may not make its way to the Indian market.
