The key differences between the two phones are the processor and the charging speeds; The Redmi K30 5G comes with Snapdragon 765G chipset, whereas the Redmi K30 4G comes with Snapdragon 730G SoC. The 5G version of the Redmi K30 offers 30W fast charging, while the 4G variant offers 27W fast charging. The Redmi K30 India launch is right around the corner because it already received BIS certification.

Xiaomi Redmi K30: Specifications Detailed

The Redmi K30 is a great mid-range smartphone when it comes to specifications and the price tag it carries. The starting price of the 5G variant is 1999 Yuan (approx. Rs 20,500), while the 4G variant starts at 1599 Yuan (approx. Rs 16,400). Moving onto the specifications, the Redmi K30 features a 6.67-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 20:9 aspect ratio, 91% screen-to-body ratio, and most importantly, the screen has a refresh rate of 120Hz. This came as a surprise considering the price point of the smartphone. Also, the Redmi K30 is the first-ever Xiaomi phone to sport a display over 60Hz. In addition, there's a dual punch-hole cutout on the top right side of the screen.

Under the hood, the Redmi K30 5G has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone also has a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The Redmi K30 4G variant has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset, paired with the same 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The highlight of the Redmi K30 is the 5G network. Right now, it's the cheapest phone in the world to offer 5G connectivity support. The Redmi K30 has dual-mode 5G, meaning it's futureproof as well. For countries like India, Xiaomi has the Redmi K30 4G variant.

The Redmi K30 rocks a quad-camera setup on the back with the primary lens being the latest 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor that takes on the 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW1 sensor. Other cameras on the 5G variant include 8MP, 5MP and 2MP sensors, whereas the 4G version has 8MP, 2MP and 2MP lens. Details of the cameras are not known at the moment. On the front, there are two selfie shooters of 20MP and 2MP.

The Redmi K30 is backed by a 4500mAh battery and the 5G variant has 30W fast charging support, while the 4G variant offers 27W fast charging. During the launch event, Xiaomi said that its 30W fast charging technology refills a 4000mAh battery faster than the 40W Dual Engine fast charging technology of Vivo. Other features include NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack and dual-frequency GPS.

The Redmi K30 runs MIUI 11-based Android 10 out of the box.

Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G vs Redmi K30 4G: What are the Differences?

To bring 5G connectivity to masses, Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi K30 5G with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset. The Redmi K30 4G variant comes with Snapdragon 730G chipset which is now nearly one-year-old. To recall, the Redmi K20 which is the predecessor of the Redmi K30, was powered by the Snapdragon 730 SoC.

The second difference is in the charging speeds. The Redmi K30 5G variant supports 30W fast charging and the 4G variant maxes out at 20W charging. The Redmi K20 with Snapdragon 730 SoC arrived with 20W fast charging support. Then there's the 5G support on the variant with Snapdragon 765G SoC. Lastly, the Redmi K30 5G has a 5MP sensor whereas the Redmi K30 4G has a 2MP sensor instead. Details of the camera sensors are unknown at the moment, aforesaid.
