Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has made some major launches this year, and the company is on the path of rising lately as it is amassing impressive sales. Redmi sold two million units of its Redmi Note 7 series which includes the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro. However, there is the budget segment Redmi 6A which haven’t yet received a successor, but as per this new report that might change. On China’s smartphone regulatory website, TENAA, we have across a listing of the Redmi 7A which can debut in China very soon. The listing all reveals the specifications of the phone as well.

Redmi 7A Specifications

The Redmi 7A has shown up on the TENAA listing website with the model number M1903C3EC. The phone has also been revealed to sport a 5.45-inch display with 720 x 1440 HD+ resolution. As for the processing and performance, the Redmi 7A will pack an octa-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz. Paired with this processor will be three RAM variants which will include 2GB RAM + 16GB storage, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage.

The specs sheet on the website also reveals the details about the camera, and we know that the Redmi 7A would pack a 13MP shooter on the rear side with a 5MP shooter on the front. Under the hood, the phone will pack a 3,900mAh unit which will keep things running. The dimensions of the phone measure 146.3 x 70.41 x 9.55mm and it weighs 150 grams. On the software front also, the Redmi 7A will come with the latest MIUI10 which will be based on Android 9 Pie. The phone will also come in eight colour options which would include Black, Red, Blue, Punk, White, Green, Purple, and Gray.

Redmi 7A vs Redmi 6A

The big hints that we get from the latest TENAA listing about the Redmi 7A point out that the phone will much similar to the previous Redmi 6A. The device sports a similar 18:9 display with identically shaped bezels on the top, bottom and sides. Some changes that have been noticed on the Redmi 7A include the camera layout on the rear side. There is some disappointment that the users might feel about the Redmi 7A, and that could be because of the lack of fingerprint sensor. As for the build of the phone, the Redmi 7A is expected to fashion a similar polycarbonate build as the Redmi 6A which we got to see last year. It is worth noting that Redmi has branched off as a separate brand from Xiaomi and thus the branding on the rear side has also been switched up from “Mi” to “Redmi”.
