Xiaomi has finally started the rollout of MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM to eligible devices. After putting a hold on Beta Testing for Chinese Developer Edition of the MIUI 10, Now the Chinese OEM is all set for the final phase of the MIUI 10 Global ROM rollout. The company had launched the MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM in Delhi in an exclusive event last month. Now that the company is proceeding towards the deployment for the first set of devices, The Mi 6, Mi Mix 2, Redmi S2, Redmi Note 5 Pro (India)/ Redmi Note 5, Mi Mix 2S, Mi 5, Mi Note 2, and Mi Mix will be eligible for the Global Beta ROM. Previously, Xiaomi had put a hold on the rollout of the update for the Xiaomi Mi 6 for undescribed reasons.
Xiaomi has also announced that it would commence the rollout of the update to other devices as well later in the year. The timeline suggests that the next phase of the rollout of MIUI 10 Global ROM would happen in September. Also, last month in June Xiaomi has finally wrapped up the beta testing program for the MIUI Global Beta ROM.
The new ROM is going to update the version to 8.7.5, and it packs many further improvements. There is a new LDAC functionality in Bluetooth in MIUI Global Beta ROM. Also, there are new fixes for Russian language localisation and translation issues. The latest update builds on top of the features of the previous 8.6.14 version which included features like an updated Mi Browser with an optimised start page, PWA (Progressive Web App) support, and better search functionality and App Vault with a World Cup card. There are going to be lots of upgrades on the MIUI 10 Global ROM
on all fronts of design, sounds and visuals. One striking addition will be the AI Portrait feature. The company is claiming 10% smoother performance over the predecessor for this ROM. The Recents view on the latest MIUI 10 Global ROM gets a revamp and it is now inspired by MIUI Notes App. Also, new system apps like Weather and Calendar have been added.For Xiaomi users owning any one of the above mentioned eligible devices and running MIUI 9, there is the option for checking the latest update by going to Settings > About phone>System updates > Check for updates. The Updater app in Xiaomi phones will also allow the users to check for the availability of MIUI 10 Global ROM. Advanced users looking to transition to Beta can do so by flashing the ROM on their devices using the Fastboot method.
