WhatsApp got several nifty features last year and one of them was group voice and video calling feature. The feature was introduced officially back in the month of August in 2018. Although the group voice and video calling feature were introduced, it wasn’t very easy to use until the latest WhatsApp update hit the Android users. WhatsApp for Android users have started getting a new update and with it comes new features, and one of them helps improve the overall experience of group calling. Notably, the new update brings a new update that brings a dedicated calling button to the app, which means voice and video group calling can now be made with just a click. It is also noteworthy that this feature hit the users of the iPhone in December and is finally making its way to the Android WhatsApp users. The feature basically lets the users add group call participants all at once. Additionally, the new WhatsApp update for Android users also brings bug fixes malfunctioning of the GIF feature.
WhatsApp Makes Group Calls Easy for Android Users
The report of the new update for WhatsApp for Android hitting was the first report by WABetaInfo. The report suggested that the WhatsApp version v2.19.9 is rolling out to all Android users and with the update, the Facebook messaging app is trying to simplify the group voice and video calling feature. The new update brings a separate calling button which will basically let the participants add all at once unlike before.
Earlier, the caller had to click on a button at the top-right corner of the screen and only then he/she can add another participant to the group call. Basically, after the call was connected, the WhatsApp screen would show an ‘Add Person' option on the top on the name of the recipient. This process was a little too complicated and hence with the new update, WhatsApp is trying to ease the entire process.
The new update brings a dedicated button at the top right corner in the group chat window and all that the caller will need to do to add a participant is to click on it. On tapping the dedicated button, a slide-out tray will open which will basically include the contact cards of all group members. The caller will just need to tap on the contact name to add participant in the group voice or video call.
Android users will be able to download the new WhatsApp v2.19.9 version from the Google Play store. Ensure to recharging battery and back up all your WhatsApp chats before downloading the update.
