In the last few weeks, WhatsApp has rolled out plenty of new updates. It seems that now after introducing the much-requested functionalities on the instant messaging application like stickers, WhatsApp is onto innovating more. WhatsApp also recently rolled out the group calling feature for the users, and now according to the latest report, the Facebook-owned giant will be topping up the previous update with the launch of a new Dark Mode for WhatsApp. The Dark Mode on WhatsApp will save the users’ eyes from the screen glare and will also save the battery of the users’ devices. This new information about the dark mode on WhatsApp has been made public by the popular blog updating information about WhatsApp, WABetaInfo.

WhatsApp Dark Mode Feature

After looking into the Beta code of the latest WhatsApp, WABetaInfo tweeted, “I receive a lot of questions about the Dark Mode. It’s still under development, and there is no news now, be patient, please. When there is news on iOS and Android, you will obviously receive more info from me, don’t worry.”

With the technologies developing rapidly, now tech giants are also starting to focus on their user’s health as they realise the harmful effects of the screen’s glare. Recently, Twitter also got a dark mode while Apple has introduced a new dark mode on its latest MacOS Mojave.

Not only the safety for eyes, but the Dark Mode on WhatsApp will also contribute to a better battery life especially for the phones which come with an OLED display. Phones like Galaxy S9

, Google Pixel 3, iPhone XS and OnePlus 6T are some devices with OLED panels, which can turn off the pixels completely when they need to show black, thus saving a lot of power. So, in case, you use a phone with OLED screen and are on WhatsApp for a substantial amount in your day, then you will have a better battery life on your phone thanks to the soon to be launched Dark Mode.

Group Calling Feature Out Now

In a related development, WABetaInfo has also announced that the instant messaging giant is now rolling out the group calling feature with the WhatsApp Android beta version 2.18.370. However, users who are not on the Beta version of the app will have to wait for a stable rollout to experience this feature. Going by the previous update cycles, a stable update for the feature will be rolled out to the users a week or two after the beta update.

To recall, previously WhatsApp users had to call one member of the group and then add other members, but via this new feature, they will be able to call four members of the group at once, thus making it easier to make group calls. For this, WhatsApp now ships a dedicated call button for the members of the group.
