Vodafone 4G Prepaid and Postpaid Plans Now Live in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana

Vodafone India, which recently started asking its users in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana to get a new 4G SIM card has now officially introduced 4G prepaid and postpaid plans in the circle. While Vodafone's website is yet to be updated, users can enrol these plans by heading over to the Vodafone retail stores in the circle. Furthermore, Vodafone has started sending SMS to the customers regarding the 4G prepaid plans launch. The telco has introduced its wide-range of prepaid unlimited data plans starting from Rs 197 to Rs 509. The Rs 197 plan of Vodafone now offers unlimited voice calls, 1.4GB 4G data per day for 28 days while the Rs 448 plan offers unlimited voice calls and 1.4GB data per day for 82 days.

As an introductory offer, Vodafone is giving every user 1GB of free 4G data for upgrading to a new 4G SIM card. The upgradation process requires the users to visit the nearest retail store.

Do make a note that Vodafone is offering 4G services under the ICR agreement with Idea Cellular. Until now, the telco offered 3G data services on the same agreement, but going forward, it will be offering 4G services. During the earnings report earlier this month, Idea Cellular stated that it would be sharing around 49,000 2G and 4G sites under the telco's ‘Active infrastructure sharing’ program. Andhra Pradesh & Telangana circle is amongst the top circles for Idea Cellular, so no surprises that it's sharing the sites with Vodafone.

However, it's unlikely that Vodafone will launch VoLTE services in the circle anytime soon. Idea, on the other hand, rolled out Idea VoLTE services in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana circle.

Vodafone is also expected to launch 4G services under the same agreement in Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh circle as the telco already started pushing its customers in the circle to upgrade to a 4G SIM card. Do make a note that to use 4G services, you should get a 4G SIM card because the 4G data services will not work with the existing 2G/3G SIM cards. And the services can be used on any 4G supported smartphone.
