Vodafone Idea Limited becomes the first operator to launch new prepaid tariff plans with increased prices. As it promised a few days ago, Vodafone Idea has hiked the prepaid tariff prices and they now start at Rs 19. While Reliance Jio started charging for non-Jio voice calls, Vodafone Idea has set a FUP limit for voice calls which will be made to other networks. As part of this revision, Vodafone Idea now has two yearly plans with 365 days validity, three prepaid plans with 84 days validity, four plans with 28 days validity and two Combo plans which ship with talk time, data and rate cutter benefits. There are also four First Recharge plans along with a Rs 19 Unlimited Sachet pack. All in all, the price hike seems to be a reasonable one, but again, the FUP limit on non-Vodafone Idea numbers is something which will not go well with the consumers. The new plans will be effective from December 3, 2019.

Vodafone Idea Combo Vouchers Start at Rs 49

Firstly, let's begin with the Combo Vouchers unveiled by Vodafone Idea today. The company seems to have removed the All Rounder packs and introduced two Combo Vouchers of Rs 49 and Rs 79. These two vouchers serve the same All Rounder prepaid plans purpose. The Rs 49 Combo Voucher ships with Rs 38 talk time, 100MB data and the voice calls will be charged at 2.5 paise per second. On the other hand, the Rs 79 Combo Voucher offers Rs 64 talk time, 200MB of data and all the calls will be charged at one paise per second. Both the plans ship with 28 days validity. That said, Vodafone Idea may also offer other Combo Vouchers which the company did not reveal in the press release we received today.

Vodafone Idea Has Four Unlimited Packs With 28 Days Validity

Under the new prepaid tariff portfolio, Vodafone Idea has four Unlimited Packs which ship with 28 days validity. The Rs 149 prepaid plan offers 2GB data, 300 SMSes and unlimited on-net voice calling. The Rs 249 prepaid recharge ships with 1.5GB data per day, 100 SMSes per day and unlimited on-net calling. The Rs 299 and Rs 399 prepaid plans offer 2GB and 3GB daily data respectively for the same 28 days validity period.

All the four Unlimited Packs from Vodafone Idea come with unlimited on-net voice calling, but the off-net voice calls will be limited to 1000 minutes for the entire recharge period.

Vodafone Idea Unlimited Packs With 84 Days Validity Start at Rs 379

After the revision, Vodafone Idea has three Unlimited Packs with 84 days validity and they are priced at Rs 379, Rs 599 and Rs 699. The Rs 379 recharge offers just 6GB of data, unlimited on-net voice calling and 1000 SMSes for 84 days.

The Rs 599 and Rs 699 prepaid plans come with 1.5GB daily data and 2GB daily data respectively, along with other benefits like unlimited on-net voice calling and 100 SMSes per day for 84 days. All the three plans offer just 3000 minutes of off-net voice calling which is underwhelming. Sadly, Vodafone Idea has removed all the prepaid plans with 70 days validity.

Vodafone Idea Annual Packs Start at Rs 1,499

Finally, Vodafone Idea unveiled two new annual packs of Rs 1,499 and Rs 2,399. Both the plans offer 12,000 minutes of off-net calls, unlimited on-net calls and 365 days validity. The Rs 1,499 prepaid plan offers just 24GB of data benefit and 3600 SMSes for an entire year, whereas the Rs 2,399 plan comes with 1.5GB data per day and 100 SMSes per day for 365 days.

Basically, the price of the earlier Rs 1,699 yearly plan has been increased to Rs 2,399 as part of the price hike from the company.

Lastly, Vodafone Idea also has an Unlimited Sachet pack of Rs 19 which does not offer on-net voice calling. The Rs 19 pack comes with unlimited on-net voice calling, 150MB of data and 100 SMSes valid for two days.

Vodafone Idea First Recharge Packs Launched as Well

Moving on, Vodafone Idea also unveiled four First Recharge (FRC) packs as well. The Rs 97 FRC from Vodafone Idea offers Rs 45 talk time, 100MB data and voice calls will be charged at one paise per second along with 28 days validity.

Other FRC plans include Rs 197, Rs 297 and Rs 647, and they offer up to 1.5GB data per day, unlimited on-net calling for up to 84 days.

Vodafone Idea On-Net Voice Calls Will be Billed at 6 Paise/Min

In addition, Vodafone Idea also stated the on-net voice calls after the provided FUP limit will be charged at six paise per minute, similar to Reliance Jio. But on the brighter side, Vodafone Idea is at least providing bundled on-net minutes, unlike Jio which is charging from the customers for IUC Top-Up vouchers.
