Viacom18 Introduces VOOT Kids App With Multi-Format Content for Rs 799 Annual Subscription

Viacom18 the popular broadcaster which owns channels like Colors is also known for its Over-the-Top content streaming platform VOOT. But, in a new event held in Mumbai on Tuesday, the company has ventured into a new domain with the launch of VOOT Kids. Viacom18 has noted that with VOOT Kids its digital ecosystem with the launch of its first subscription play. It is also worth noting that the new VOOT Kids app by Viacom18 is also certified by the Early Childhood Association (ECA). Talking about this application, Viacom has also noted that it comes with more than 20,000 videos, e-books, stories and quizzes which will cater to the kid’s digital ecosystem and will be a source of edutainment as well. As for the pricing of VOOT Kids, Viacom18 has said that it would be priced at Rs 799 annually and Rs 99 per month with Free Trials in both packages. Starting today, the VOOT Kids app is available on both the Play Store and iOS App Store.

VOOT Kids to Encompass Multi-Format Content

Sudhanshu Vats, Group CEO & MD, Viacom18, remarked on the launch of the new VOOT Kids application saying, “Our digital play VOOT is the second largest video-on-demand platform in the country today.” He further added that the VOOT Kids app is a synergy of two growth stories from Viacom18 and with this, the group has made its foray into the world of subscription-based services. The unique proposition about the VOOT Kids app is that it is the only multi-format Kids app which bundles content across many verticals, so kids will be able to watch, read, learn, and listen all in one place.

Viacom18 has also noted that the VOOT Kids app will strike a balance between fun learning and entertainment for the kids aged between 2 to 8 years. The content will encompass many formats which allow viewing, reading, listening and playing for the kids. Also, the content will be based on some of the favourite cartoons of the kids beautifully crafted picture e-books, audio stories and fun quizzes which the kids will find engaging. To bring content on the VOOT Kids platform, the group has partnered up with big names like TV Asahi, Nickelodeon, Oxford University Press, Ceebeebies, Warner Media, Green Gold, Sony Music, Hasbro, Mattel, Lego and many more.

VOOT Kids Will Also Come With Parental Control

In VOOT Kids, we are bringing an offering that is child-friendly, yet parent focussed and gives them an opportunity to bond with an immersive co-consumption experience.” Answering to TelecomTalk, Rakshit also added that as compared to the competing offerings, the things that would set VOOT Kids apart would include the multi-format content. This way, the kids will be able to watch, listen, read. He also pointed out that the app will take care of the kind of content the kids will consume and it would be “in consultation with parents”. Apart form this, VOOT Kids willalso ensure the safety of the child, and there would be measures like parental control.

Pricing

As for the pricing of the VOOT Kids app, it will be available for subscription at Rs 799 annually, with a 30 days free trial and for Rs 99 a month, with a 7 days free trial. The VOOT Kids app is available for download on Google Play Store and iOS.
