The ‘Start Unlimited’ plan from Verizon offers users 5G nationwide access along with 4G LTE networks access. Users can also pay an additional $10 charge for getting 5G Ultra-Wideband access from the company.
Verizon and T-Mobile are two of the biggest telecom operators in the USA. Both the companies have quite similar prepaid offerings where Verizon’s services come across as slightly more premium than T-Mobile’s because of the price of the plans. The ‘Start Unlimited’ plan from Verizon and the Essentials plan from T-Mobile are quite similar, and their pricing varies marginally. The speciality of both the plans is that both of them offer 5G
access to the customers. But Verizon’s ‘Start Unlimited’ plan is slightly better than the ‘Essentials’ plan; here’s why.The ‘Start Unlimited’ plan from Verizon offers users 5G nationwide access along with 4G LTE networks access. Users can also pay an additional $10 charge for getting 5G Ultra-Wideband access from the company. The plan ships with unlimited voice calling and unlimited texts. As for data, the company says it offers unlimited, but there should be a fair-usage-policy (FUP) limit on the data. The slightly more expensive plan from Verizon offers 50GB of data, so one thing is for sure, this plan either offers 50GB data as well or something less than that.
The Start Unlimited plan costs $70 for a single line connection. Users get Disney+ for six months, discovery+ for 6 months, Google Play Pass for 6 months, Apple Arcade for 6 months, and Apple Music for 6 months.
T-Mobile offers its Essentials plan for $60 (single line connection). Users get unlimited voice calling and 50GB of premium data (FUP data) with unlimited texts. There is no OTT benefit offered, but users get the ‘mobile hotspot data’ benefit. So on the data front, T-Mobile’s Essential plan offers more or the same amount of data for $10 less than Verizon.
But there are no OTT benefits which is a big thing. There’s a hotspot data benefit that Verizon users don’t get with the base 5G unlimited plan. Overall, Verizon’s plan offers more benefits than T-Mobile’s base plan and thus is better.
