UTStarcom appoints Mr. Vikas Giridhar to drive Wi-Fi initiatives in Indian telecom market

UTStarcom, a global telecommunications infrastructure provider, today announced the appointment of Vikas Giridhar, increasing its employee strength in India. Vikas comes on board as General Manager- Sales, wherein he will be leading business development and sales for UTStarcom’s North India operations. He will be reporting to Rahul Pandey, Director (S&M), UTStarcom India.

With new telecom wave ready to storm the industry, UTStarcom is upbeat about its business growth in Indian market and plans to double its strength in 2015. The company is on an aggressive hiring spree and appointing industry experts across different levels to increase its employee base. With new appointment of Mr. Vikas, the company looks forward to advance its expansion plan and business operations in India. Prior to joining UTStarcom, Vikas served as the Sales Lead-Wi-Fi, SDN and Optical Business- Asia Pacific, Japan & China, with Cisco.

Vikas’s 15+ years of rich experience is a cumulative expertise of him in sales, marketing, business development and alliances that include over 7 years in Enterprise Telephony, over 5 years in Enterprise Networking, Cloud solution, Mobility (Wireless) and 3 years in Enterprise security, High End Routing and optical business. His specialities are strong channel management and marketing skills along with management of third parties to enhance existing products, aggressive schedules across ongoing transitions in technology and strategy.

He also held the position of Senior Head Business Development - South Asia, Motorola Inc. and was associated with AVAYA Global Connect Ltd as Head -Product Marketing Enterprise Voice solution, IP Telephony & Contact Centre, India & Subcontinents. Mr. Vikas has also been associated with reputed organizations including 3D Networks-Wipro Company, Alcatel Business Systems India Ltd and Godrej India. He is a B. Tech in Electrical & Communication Engineering from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. He holds a Diploma in Export Marketing and International Business from Indian institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi and has studied a Master Program in Global Business Management at Institute of Management studies and Research. M.D. University.
