Leaks of smartphones are happening fast as the MWC approaches, and lately, Lenovo’s Motorola 2018 lineup of smartphones was revealed. Leaked renders from Droid-Life suggest upgrades to the mid-range Moto G and an interesting Moto X smartphone. The Moto X5 is perhaps the most interesting of all the devices. The X5 sports a “border-less” screen with relatively small bezels all around and an iPhone X-like top notch. The notch houses dual front-facing “smart” cameras with an earpiece in the middle.

Moto X5

The Moto X5 also comes with an iPhone X-like gesture bar that will likely be for Moto’s “one button nav” mode. There is also no fingerprint sensor onboard which means the device could come with an in-display fingerprint scanner or feature facial recognition security. Otherwise, the phone design is like the X4 with a glass back and circular bump housing dual cameras and flash.

Moto G6

Moving on, we have the G6 series, which now come with significant changes such as 3D glass back moving on from the all-metal design of G5 series. Also, the new G-series phones make the jump to 18:9 displays.

The standard G6 comes with a 5.7-inch display with a 2,160x1,080 touchscreen with minimal top bezels compared to previous phones. The bottom bezels house the fingerprint sensor, and there’s a full “Motorola” logo just above the fingerprint sensor.

This Moto G6 will ship with a Snapdragon 450 processor with either 3/4 GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage. As for optics, there is a 12MP + 5MP dual combo at the back, while there’s a larger 16MP front-facing shooter with flash up front. A 3,000mAh battery rounds out the specs.

Moto G6 Plus

The Moto G6 Plus has a similar design save for a larger 5.93" display which comes with the same resolution as its smaller sibling. The Plus model will be powered by Snapdragon 630 SoC, and the device will also have three RAM variants: 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB.

The rear cameras seem to be same a 12MP + 5MP setup as G6, but the spec table given specifically lists a 1.4?m pixel size for the Plus model. The front will certainly have the same 16MP sensor with flash, but Moto G6 Plus will pack slightly larger 3200mAh battery. Moto G6 Plus will be launched in three colours: Deep Indigo, Nimbus, and Dark Lake.

Moto G6 Play

Lastly, the G6 Play adopts the same 18:9 display design, but unlike its siblings moves the fingerprint scanner to the rear. The scanner is now fittingly integrated into the “batwing” logo just underneath the single rear camera. Not many details are available regarding the device, but the G6 Play is rumoured to have a 5.7" 720p display and a hefty 4,000 mAh battery. The G6 Play will come in a Dark Charcoal, Gold, and Deep Blue colour options.

It’s not clear when these upcoming smartphones are launching, but we are speculating an MWC announcement from Motorola.
