After going head to head with Reliance Jio in the tariff plans department, Bharti Airtel is now looking for an upper hand in the data card market. During the last festival season, Reliance Jio slashed the price of the Reliance Jio M2S router by 50%, making it available at just Rs 999. And today, Airtel slashed the price of its Airtel 4G Hotspot and 4G Dongle by 50% to compete with Reliance JioFi.

The Airtel 4G Hotspot, which was priced at Rs 1,950 until now will retail for just Rs 999 going forward. And the Airtel 4G Dongle, which was priced at Rs 3,000 will now retail for just Rs 1,500. The price of the Airtel 4G Hotspot is attractive, and it now puts against the same affordably priced Reliance JioFi.

Airtel previously reduced the price of Airtel 4G Hotspot to Rs 999, but it was limited to just Kerala circle. The leading telecom operator also lowered the price to Rs 1,500 but again increased it to Rs 1,950. Also, we're not sure whether this price drop from Airtel is a permanent one or a temporary one. We've reached out to Airtel on the same, but the company is yet to revert back. We will update the article once Airtel responds to our query.

Nevertheless, it's a good offer from Bharti Airtel. If you're looking to purchase a 4G Hotspot device, you can get the Airtel 4G Hotspot without any looking back.

Talking about the Airtel 4G Hotspot, it is manufactured by Chinese vendor Huawei and can be purchased from Airtel Online Store. The new price is yet to reflect on other e-commerce portals such as Amazon India.

The Airtel 4G Hotspot comes with a 1500mAh Li-ion Polymer battery and can handle up to 10 devices at a time. In contrast, the Reliance JioFi can connect up to 31 devices at a time. The Airtel 4G Hotspot is said to offer six hours of battery life, and it can fully charge from zero to 100% in four hours.

The Airtel 4G Hotspot also comes with 3G connectivity option, meaning when there's no 4G connectivity, you can enjoy the data in either 2G or 3G.
