This budget friendly InFocus Turbo 5 comes at a time where Xiaomi Redmi 4 is at the top of its game, at that range of price. Here’s why the InFocus Turbo 5 is a good competitor to the Xiaomi Redmi 4.

Design and Display

Both the devices come with a metal body and also a biometric sensor at the rear. Display-wise InFocus Turbo 5 has a larger 5.2-inch screen whereas the Xiaomi Redmi 4 sports a smaller 5-inch display. Bigger screen means the user has more space to interact and navigate through the phone. Both the phones come with 2.5D curved glass on top.

You can choose from Mocha Gold and Pure Gold colour options for the Turbo 5, and the Redmi 4 device is available in Gold and Black models.

Hardware

Xiaomi Redmi 4 has a better processor than that of the InFocus Turbo 5 which helps in the overall performance of the phone. Under the hood, the Turbo 5 is powered by a Quad-core MediaTek MT6737 64-bit processor clocked at 1.3GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage onboard. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 has an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The Turbo 5 only comes in 2GB and 3GB variants while the Redmi 4 is available in three different storage variants – 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB. The 4GB RAM model comes with 64GB internal storage.

Both devices feature dual-SIM support with hybrid SIM slots, where one of the allotted slots also doubles as a microSD card holder. Even the photography segment is quite similar in both the smartphones with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera each.

Software and Battery

We can note a difference when it comes to the software comparison. The InFocus Turbo 5 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat while the Xiaomi Redmi 4 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Both the handsets equally feature 4G VoLTE connectivity. The Turbo 5 again takes the prize in the battery department with its impressive 5,000mAh battery as opposed to a slightly lesser 4,100mAh battery capacity of the Redmi 4.

Verdict

Both the InFocus Turbo 5 and the Xiaomi Redmi 4 go a little up and down on the comparison scale and seem to be neck-to-neck in the competition. Along with a bigger display, and running on the latest operating system, the Turbo 5 is longer lasting with its bigger battery as well. This would be the best choice if you’re looking for a budget smartphone with good battery and large display. Instead, if you’re looking for a better phone performance over the rest, the Redmi 4 is your go-to smartphone where you also get an option to choose a greater storage model.
