Upcoming Microsoft Band 2 leaked, looks similar to the Samsung Gear Fit

Looking at the immense consumer interest in the smart wearable devices market, Microsoft launched its first fitness tracker, the Microsoft Band, in October 2014.

After almost an year, it looks like the Redmond-based software giant is ready to launch the successor to the Microsoft Band.

The first images of the Microsoft Band sequel have surfaced on the Internet, thanks to the guys over at MicrosoftInsider. Unlike its predecessor, which had some design issues and compromises, the Microsoft Band 2 seems to feature a more ergonomic, design. Actually, it looks a lot inspired from the Samsung Gear Fit, thanks to its curved display.

In addition to the laundry list of sensors that were equipped in the Microsoft Band, its successor seems to feature an additional sensor, the altimeter, which will help in measuring stairs climbed. Moreover, the software seems to be based on Windows 10 IoT core, but there's no information whether it would be launched in India anytime soon.

Misfit Shine Colours India

Of late, a lot of specialised wearable fitness device brands have entered India including Misfit, Fitbit, Jawbone, and Garmin. Xiaomi started selling the Mi Band in India just for Rs. 999, and YU launched the YuFit activity tracker along with YU Yuphoria a few months back for Rs. 999 as well, but it comes with a small OLED display, a feature that isn't present in the Mi Band.
