Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Hikes 2G Internet Tariff

Private mobile operators launched 3G in 2010, and it has been 2 years but 3G is yet to get warm responses from the subscribers as the operators expected and bidded aggressively.

To promote 3G data services incumbent operators Airtel Vodafone and Idea followed similar way - make a hike on 2G data tariff in the form of cutting down bundled usage on popular data packs. The new revision is certainly an anti-consumer move, and those are using Airtel, Vodafone or Idea's 2G services on dongle will definitely move to other operators.

We can guess BSNL will revise their 2G plans following Airtel and Idea, but the problem is BSNL's 2G or 3G is too bad compared to Airtel or Idea in most circles.

The major changes on 2G Internet Packs by Airtel and Idea:
** The plans may have slight price differences in circle to circle and these new revision is not applied in certain circles.

Rs 98 - now 650 MB for 21 days (earlier 1GB for 30 days)
Rs 124 - 1 GB for 30 days (earlier for Rs 98)
Rs 149 - 1.2GB for 30 days (earlier 1.5GB for 30 days)
Rs 198 - 2GB + unlimited @40kbps for 30 days (earlier this pack priced at Rs 149)

We advise that those are regular users of Airtel Vodafone and Idea's 2G internet packs, must call to customer care, or enquire about the all new GPRS plans before making a recharge.
