Cameras have indeed become quintessential in today’s smartphones. Cameras in smartphone gives the users plenty of opportunity to share and edit their pictures. Smartphone cameras have come a long way starting with the Nokia 7650 with a VGA camera to the latest Nokia Lumia 1020 which boasts of a 41 Megapixel sensors. Gone are the days when smartphones having decent camera capabilities would cost a bombshell as manufacturers like Gionee are coming up with smartphones having excellent imaging capabilities in the sub 15K range. Lets take a look at some of the best affordable camera smartphones available in India
1.Micromax Canvas Turbo
The Canvas Turbo features a 13 Megapixel Primary camera unit tagged with a LED flash. The secondary camera is a 5 Megapixel sensor and is good enough for the usual dose of selfies and video chats. The Camera app is intuitive but the exposure levels are not that great and so is the saturation levels. Canvas Turbo is a good device to go for if you have a severe budget constraint.
2.Gionee Elife E7
Gionees flagship the Elife E7 has received many price cuts and currently is retailing at Rs.15700 and at this price we are tempted to call this device as a steal. The Elife E7 comes with a 16Megapixel primary camera and a whopping 8 Megapixel secondary camera. The auto focussing is a bliss and the macro shots come out to be great. LED flash is set at right intensity and doesn’t wash out the pictures. The Elife E7 has one of the best secondary camera in this range and if you are a selfies fan jump right in and get yourself the E7.
3.Moto G 2
The second iteration of Moto G has a bumped up camera with a sensor of 8 Megapixels and the secondary sensor remains same at 2 Megapixel. The camera has been improved with regards to its predecessor but still it doesn’t give us reasons to brag about. The detailing could have been better and they could have also put in a better sensor in the secondary camera.
4.Micromax Canvas Gold A300
The Micromax Canvas Gold is the best bet if you are looking out for an aesthetically pleasing affordable device with a good camera unit. Micromax have tossed in a 13 Megapixel primary camera unit that performs well but again in comparison with the 16 Megapixel sensor of the Gionee E7 the Canvas Gold falls short of breath.
5.Asus Zenfone 5
Zenfone 5 looks great with dashes of brushed aluminium finish here and their. The device feels solid and the primary camera takes shape in the form of a 8 Megapixel sensor. The camera unit performs well but we found out the UI to be a little confusing for the average users. The shutter lag is predominant and can ruin your chances of capturing the perfect picture.
All of these smartphones we have listed here have good imaging capabilities but if you need the perfect camera companion than you need to go an extra mile. We found the Gionee Elife E7 to be an excellent bet with its 16 Megapixel camera. The Smile detection and the touch focus work flawlessly. The Elife E7 is a great buy even if you consider the other features which include a powerful Quad Core Snapdragon 800 processor set to clock at an staggering 2.2GHz and a mighty 2GB of RAM.
