Telefonica Teams Up With SpaceX’s Starlink as Authorised Global Partner

Telefonica, operating through its global business unit Telefonica Global Solutions (TGS), has partnered with SpaceX's Starlink to become an authorised global partner of Starlink, the constellation of advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites delivering high-speed, low-latency broadband Internet across the globe, even in remote and underserved areas.

Telefonica Joins Starlink for Global Connectivity

Telefonica stated that the agreement allows it to seamlessly integrate Starlink's business solutions, both fixed and mobile, into its existing portfolio.

Tailored Solutions for Businesses

As per the statement, Starlink introduced enterprise solutions earlier this year, customised to cater to the specific needs of businesses, and will be provided through reliable distributors such as Telefonica Global Solutions. Key highlights of the enterprise service comprise:

  • High-speed, low-latency broadband Internet that allows new use cases previously unattainable with satellite connectivity.
  • Deployment of dedicated terminals with extended reach and performance, ensuring steadfast connectivity even in adverse weather conditions with download speeds ranging up to 300-350 Mbps.
  • Availability of specialised terminals engineered for in-vehicle mobility.
  • Data services catering to the needs of businesses.

Telefonica Global Solutions stated, "The satellite industry is experiencing an unprecedented revolution. The satellite allows you to execute connectivity projects very quickly and efficiently. At Telefonica Global Solutions, we have been offering value-added satellite solutions for many years and, with this alliance, we began to work hand in hand with Starlink Empresas to offer new generation solutions to our customers."

Seamless Integration in Key Markets

Telefonica said the collaboration already operational in Mexico will gradually expand its reach throughout the year, commencing with Peru, Colombia, Chile, Brazil, and Spain in Europe.

The Telefonica Global Solutions team will progressively promote commercial openness in the rest of the markets. This partnership between Telefonica and Starlink marks a significant leap toward narrowing the digital divide and amplifying global connectivity.
