Tata Sky joined the WhatsApp Business programme last year and the company has been providing a couple of quick services through the instant messaging platform. Tata Sky has added new options to its WhatsApp service allowing users to check their account balance, instant recharge option, get an emergency top-up, know the current channel pack details and refresh the account after a recharge. When the service was launched back in 2018, Tata Sky said all these options would be available to the customers, but it took the company more than a year to add all the options. Before the new options rollout, Tata Sky just allowed its users to add or remove a channel individually. Now, more options have been added to the table, giving more freedom to the subscribers.

How to Check Account Balance of Tata Sky on WhatsApp?

As mentioned, Tata Sky has added the option of getting your account balance on WhatsApp. However, to do that, you'll have to first subscribe to WhatsApp's Business service from your registered Tata Sky mobile number. To do that, save the mobile number- +91 1800 208 6633 on your smartphone and message something on WhatsApp.

After messaging, Tata Sky Business service will reply with the services it can provide. So Tata Sky is providing eight services on WhatsApp Business right now and they are adding a channel, removing a channel, Balance check, complete channel pack details, recharge instantly (provides a website link), refresh the account after recharge, unable to view a pack even after addition and to get emergency top-up.

To check the balance of your Tata Sky account, reply to the Tata Sky Business account as 'BALANCE.' After sending this message, the Tata Sky account will reply with your account balance. These commands will work only if you send the WhatsApp message from your registered Tata Sky mobile number only. If you send it from a non-registered mobile number, then the reply will be "Request has failed as your mobile number is not registered with us. To avail please try again from registered mobile number or provide your Subscriber ID."

Other Ways to Registering to Tata Sky WhatsApp Service

Tata Sky is allowing its users to register to WhatsApp service in three ways. The first way has been detailed above by saving the mobile number and sending an SMS. There are two more ways of registration: Tata Sky subscribers from the registered mobile number can give a missed call to 92296-92296 so that the company can start sending updates related to your account. The third and last way is to send a text message from the Tata Sky registered mobile number as: WHATSAPP to 56633.

Tata Sky also allows users to start and stop the service at any time. For stopping the WhatsApp service, just type 'STOP' and send it to the Tata Sky Business account. And to start the service again, follow any of the three procedures mentioned above.

It's one of the unique services by Tata Sky to its customers. Alternatively, Tata Sky users can log into the mobile app to perform all these actions and it also requires an internet connection.
