Tata DoCoMo has announced that it has launched a new Standard Tariff Voucher (STV) in the West Bengal circle. The new STV is aimed at users who make frequent phone calls to connect with their close ones.
The recharge voucher priced at Rs. 42 with a validity of 30 days, offers local mobiles calls to any network in the country at just 35 p/min, while calls to landlines & STD numbers will be charged at 2 p/s.

Tata DoCoMo is losing subscribers every month in the West Bengal circle. Even in July, 18,845 subscribers left the telco's network. So, we can safely assume that they are trying to keep their users with these offers. But we think that these offers wouldn't help them much as they don’t have proper network in many places in the region.
When Aircel and Idea are expanding their networks in Bengal, Tata DoCoMo doesn’t have any plan to expand their networks in the circle. Tata DoCoMo doesn’t even have 3G spectrum, and their Photon products are facing stiff competition from MTS MBlaze, which offers Wi-Fi dongles at relatively cheaper rates.
Do you think that Tata DoCoMo can sustain long without adequate network & spectrum? Please share your through in the comments section below.
