Country's leading dual tech operator Tata Docomo has silently revised their CDMA data offerings for mobile phone users. Tata Docomo, being one of few CDMA service provider in the country has one of the strongest mobile network with its CDMA coverage.

Now the revised data plans is almost as par with market's 2G data plans, though Tata Docomo allows that users if have a EVDO enabled smartphone/device will get EVDO speed with these packs.

Details of revised prepaid CDMA data plans from Tata Docomo:

At present CDMA data plans are quite cheaper than GSM, based on the fact that CDMA data plans from Reliance and Tata offer EVDO speed. Reliance's STV94 offers 1.5GB EVDO data for 30 days, and 10p/SMS for 180 days.

Contrast to these offering, MTS, country's sole pure-play CDMA operator has many data plans which are confusing and costly. They differentiate 1x and 3X/EVDO/HSD plans and for users who are using MTS-branded smartphones they have another set of plans. Not only that to access EVDO, people have to change their voice plan. In a short, MTS is really messed up!!
