Tata Teleservices is all set to roll out its GSM Mobile Service in Kolkata and West Bengal telecom circle with its GSM brand 'TATA DoCoMo' before Durga Puja in September 2009.
The core GSM network is live in test mode in parts of Kolkata metro and West Bengal telecom circle. The helpline number of TATA DoCoMo for Kolkata is 90380-12345/90380-00121 and for West Bengal its 90460-12345.
TATA DoCoMo will be the 6th GSM operator in Kolkata, the five other operator are Vodafone, Airtel, Aircel, BSNL, and Reliance Smart.
Besides Kolkata and West Bengal circles, Tata DoCoMo has also received startup spectrum for all telecom circle except Delhi and the company plans to roll out mobile service in all circles by the end of December 2009.
At present, the company has its GSM mobile service in Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Orissa, Kerala, Mumbai, Maharashtra-Goa and Madhya Pradesh-Chhatisgarh telecom circle. DoCoMo has differentiated itself in the Indian telecom market by reducing the pulse timing on a per second basis which for other players is on a minute basis.
