Face Recognition Rollout for Aadhaar Delayed Until August 1

Aadhaar-body Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) confirmed the delay in rolling out the Face Recognition technology for authentication. UIDAI was supposed to implement the facial recognition authentication method for Aadhaar by July 1, however, the same will be now implemented by August 1, as confirmed by UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan to PTI. UIDAI Will Start Facial Recognition for Aadhaar From July 1

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is all set to roll out face authentication alongside iris or fingerprint scans as a means of Aadhaar verification from July 1, 2018.
