Smartisan Nut Pro 2 With Snapdragon 660 SoC and 5.99-inch FHD+ Display Officially Launched

Smartisan, a Chinese company has launched a new upper mid-range smartphone dubbed Smartisan Nut Pro 2. The Nut Pro 2 succeeds the Smartisan Nut 2 which was launched earlier this year. And it's not a minor upgrade over the Nut 2. Smartisan has upgraded the design and internals of the smartphone to match with current upper mid-range devices such as Oppo R11 and Sharp Aquos R Compact in China.

Firstly, the Smartisan Nut Pro 2 is a good-looking smartphone with glass and metal bodied design. Smartisan is a company that gives a lot of attention in designing a smartphone because of making it standout from the crowd, and the Nut Pro 2 is no different. At the back of the phone, we have a fingerprint sensor embedded nicely into the Smartisan logo.

Talking about the specifications of the Smartisan Nut Pro 2, it flaunts a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The display has a 2.5D curved glass on top and also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

Internally, it is powered by the upper mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, which was earlier seen on few smartphones such as Oppo R11 and Sharp Aquos R Compact. The Snapdragon 660 succeeds the Snapdragon 653 SoC and is built on 14nm manufacturing process. Accompanying the chipset is 4GB/6GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage that can be expanded with a microSD card.

The phone comes in a slew of variants with every model differentiated by the amount of RAM and internal storage. There's a 4GB RAM/32GB variant, 4GB/64GB variant, 6GB/64GB variant, 6GB/128GB variant, and lastly, the premium model with 6GB/256GB storage. Price of the Smartisan Nut Pro 2 starts from 1799 Yuan (approx. Rs. 17,660) and goes all the way up to 3299 Yuan (approx. Rs. 32,400).

The smartphone comes with dual cameras at the back. There's a primary 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 5MP Samsung S5K4E8 sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The secondary sensor adds depth to the images for bokeh shots. For selfie lovers, it offers a 16MP camera with Artificial Intelligence-based beautification mode.

The phone has support for Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, Face Unlock, NFC, 4G LTE, VoLTE, GPS, and USB Type-C port. This entire package is backed by a 3500mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charge technology and it boots Android Nougat 7.1 based Smartisan 4.0 UI.

The phone comes in three colour options- Maroon Red, Black, and White. Smartisan did not reveal any plans on launching the Nut Pro 2 in India.
