Following the successful launch of the Sansui Horizon two weeks ago, the Japanese company Sansui today announced its successor, the Sansui Horizon 2 in India. Priced at Rs. 4,999, the smartphone will be exclusive to Flipkart and will be up for sale starting May 15.

At Rs. 4,999, the Sansui Horizon 2 offers IR Blaster and USB OTG support. The device flaunts a 5-inch HD screen with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. Under-the-hood, there’s a 1.25GHz quad-core chipset and 2GB of RAM.

The smartphone has 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card. In terms of camera, Sansui has added an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. Sansui is also bundling a full version of Gameloft games with the phone.

Also, there’s a dedicated panic button on the phone similar to the SOS button on other phones. The device comes laden with Android 7.0 Nougat, which is a highlight of the phone.

“Sansui has been committed to developing innovative smartphones to woo the Indian customers. Sansui Horizon 2 will come in Black Grey and Rose Gold colour variants,” said Abhishek Malpani, COO Sansui, in the press statement.

Like mentioned above, the Horizon 2 is the successor to Horizon 1, which marked the company’s comeback to the Android market. With the Horizon series, the brand is looking to deliver decent smartphones at a tight price point of under Rs. 5,000. The device will go against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 4A and iVoomi Me 1+.

The Horizon 2 comes with connectivity options such as 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. It also has basic sensors such as proximity, accelerometer, and ambient light for auto brightness.

The Sansui Horizon is priced at Rs. 3999 and is sold exclusively via Flipkart. It also comes with a 1.3GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, but has an FWVGA display. The Horizon 1 is backed by a 2000mAh battery.
